If America hadn't purchased Alaska in 1867 we'd have Russia poking into Canada and at our doorstep. We expanded into the pacific in the 1900s, and if we hadn't than the Japanese empire would have secured all the critical oil it needed in WW2. You may not recognize it, but there is obvious strategic value inacquiring Greenland looking longterm in a multipolar world as Russia and China both gobble up resources.

It shouldn't throw either you or anyone else into a tizzy for Trump to pursue Greenland. Something he's doing purely because its in our national interests. You can't even dress it up in some insane russiaburger conspiracy theory that he's looking to build Trump Tower Nuuk when it has less population than my suburb. And Trump is being reasonable about seeking peaceful, voluntary admission to the US and petitioning Greenlanders to consider it of their own accord while promising to respect their self determination, yet you're up in arms over the mere argument being presented by Trump.

China and Russia aren't being so benevolent in their African land grabs, the Silk Road Initiative and Ukraine War.

They are going to do that anyways. The way the EU and Canada are making the ruling party in the US angry the likelihood of the US leaving NATO is higher than ever.

First thing Russia will do is finish Ukraine off then take control of Poland. Then start incursions into Alaska, British Columbia and Yukon.

I think the easiest way to engage with a delusional person is to challenge them and expose their beliefs to logical scrutiny, ask them to evaluate their own opinions to see if they make sense. At least, people I think have a chance of seeing the light.
So please elaborate, what exactly do you think Donald Trump's motives are in acquiring Greenland? Clearly he's pursuing it for some purpose, so I'd like you to explain what you think that purpose is.

Nothing Trump does is divested from what he perceives to be his own self-interest. Even people that love him know that... he's the most self-absorbed man I've ever seen in public life.

So him renaming the Gulf of Mexico and pursuing land is primarily about his own legacy. He wants to be known as the president who acquired Greenland and Canada. To pretend this is just him worried about America's national interest is North Korean level propaganda.
