“I think if you want to learn something on this show tonight, buy Tesla!” Lutnick continued. “It’s unbelievable that this guy’s stock is this cheap, it’ll never be this cheap again. When people understand the things he’s building, the robots he’s building, the technology he’s building — people will be dreaming of today and Jesse Watters and thinking, ‘gosh, I should have bought Elon Musk’s stock!’ I mean, who wouldn’t invest in Elon Musk? You gotta be kidding.”

The US, grappling with an egg shortage, is reaching out to Lithuania for egg exports after Finland declined. The situation has prompted ridicule online.

In the past two months, the United States has reached out to several countries to address its domestic egg shortage, caused by a severe outbreak of bird flu that killed millions of hens. The price of eggs has soared in the US, turning the once-humble breakfast staple into a luxury item. Latest reports indicate that the US has now reached out to Lithuania for eggs.

the "egg crisis" isn't a crisis. it's Trump trying to fix something he campaigned on quickly. so he's reaching out to try and get an influx of egg/hen supplies to drive down prices quickly and deliver on a promise.

we've had a dozen or so bird flu outbreaks, the ag dept kills a few million hens, and over a few months prices normalize. the way egg farms work they only have birds lay eggs for 18-24 months. so the next batch of laying hens is already on the way, and they euthanize less of those birds because they're not yet sending eggs to humans.

so they'll hatch 2x more eggs and it wont be an issue most likely. if we can get some eggs/birds from other nations in the meantime, good. i dont understand why free trade is embarrassing.

this would be like my wife saying her car brakes are acting up, and i say "ok ill get it fixed". then when i go to a mechanic she says "how embarrassing". i can fix brakes, but not every problem has to be solo solved by the person who promises to fix things. Lithuania isn't exactly a booming metropolis, im sure they could use some cash. win win.
