What’s the consequence for reservists savagely gang raping a prisoner?

It wasnt rape

In July 2024, allegations emerged involving Israeli soldiers accused of severely abusing a Palestinian prisoner affiliated with Hamas’s Nukhba unit at the Sde Teiman detention camp. The abuse reportedly included extreme violence, such as stabbing the detainee with a sharp object, leading to serious injuries like fractured ribs and a punctured lung.

In response, the Israeli military police detained nine soldiers for questioning regarding the suspected abuse.

As of February 2025, the legal proceedings against the accused soldiers are ongoing. The Israeli military has indicted several reservists, including two officers, on charges related to the severe abuse of the Palestinian detainee. The indictments detail the extreme violence inflicted upon the prisoner, underscoring the seriousness of the allegations.

Unfortunately when you look as Israel's past war crimes and history the word "rape" comes up an unfortunate amount of times.

That is, the past 100 years, very modern history.

The indictment further states that the abuse resulted in severe injuries, including fractured ribs, a punctured lung, and internal rectal tears.

My bad, they just raped him with a sharp object instead, perforated his lungs and broke his ribs. Nice of you to leave out the part of the article which mentions internal rectal tears. So, what’s the consequence?

Facing trial isn’t a consequence, it’s a process. It’s nice to get an answer out of you though after tying to sweep this vicious rape under the rug.

Facing trial is facing consequences

Who will face consequences on the rape of female hostages?
Who will face consequences for starving and abusing the hostages?

Forcible penetration of the anus with an object is rape.
Quote
penetration, no matter how slight, of the vagina or anus with any body part or object, or oral penetration by a sex organ of another person, without the consent of the victim

I can understand why Israelis would prefer a different definition of rape (or consent, or pedophilia, but that’s another subject).

Facing trial isn’t a consequence if there is no time served, no loss of employment, no financial penalty, etc. Those responsible for taking hostages, rape or abuse should all face long jail sentences. Can you say the same about these rapists abusing a prisoner?

100%

What you do not understand that its not israeli policy.
Yet it is Hamas policy to abuse and starve the hostages

You take an example from few soldiers who took the law to their own hands and blame the Israeli government yet you do not blame Hamas for encouraging their “freedom fighters” doing worse unthinkable abuse

Your initial post to the claim describing the atrocities was "decisions and consequences", as if this was a normal consequence for a prisoner. It doesn’t have to be policy to be perpetrated or even encouraged as ferdia demonstrated in his post.

Took the law in their own hands? The law had already been applied, HE’S IN JAIL.

I was refering to his last sentence:

Quote
but sure, ignore history and the fact that more palestinians have been killed in the last 3 days then where killed on Oct 7th. 65K+ dead since Oct 7th.
detained without charge for years, no rights, and a population protesting, protesting! that violence (all types!) is OK! against prisoners
