The Battle of Quebec was fought on 13 September 1759 during the Seven Years War (1756-63), so your family settled in Canada many years after said war.

There’s no mention of that in the version I see on Harvard’s website; nothing that would apply to outsiders anyway. Do you have any evidence of that "law" being enforced during the first contact with Jacques Cartier? Because at the time their chief didn’t seem to mind Cartier leaving with two of his sons; looking to trade for them.

When Champlain came back, the Iroquois were actively fighting each other, as the St. Lawrence Iroquois wanted to trade with the French, while other tribes didn’t.

2025 lenses on 1500-1600s colonialism is bound to look bad at some point, but the fact remains that it’s not in any way, shape or form similar to today’s illegal immigration.

And to get back on topic, Indians are not arriving in Canada randomly by boat without prior communication. Canada is actively inviting them. This discussion arose from bitching about Indians who, according to some sick nasty individuals here:

1) Work 2-3 minimum wage jobs, taking ourrrr jobbbs (despite paying some of the highest taxes in the western world from their salaries, improving and expanding Canadian economy)
2) Collect benefits (they paid for, through taxes by working said 2-3 minimum wage jobs)
3) Live together to save money (not sure what this has to do with anything really and why should people be dictated to on how to live by some dude whose ancestors smelt like rotten pickes when they got off the boat when they came to Canada some 100 years ago )
