I bet I hunt, fish, make more cloths than anyone here as I type this from my table covered in fur scraps and I believe the rise in CEO pay as a ratio to average worker as well as longevity of CEOs within companies is a modern as in past 50-60 year issue that's caused significant issues and resulted in some of the wealthiest people on earth. Billionaires not all but if we're being all encompassing, really there's issues with extreme wealth.
Wealth inequality may be one thing but if you look at modern day function and how what modern day CEOs do in their record short terms at companies now, it's pretty disastrous I'd say. Stock price being the ultimate measuring stick resulting in buybacks that often make no sense rather than actual organic growth, over acquisition, over leveraged, absurd multiples, etc. We encourage this and pay hundreds of millions to the guy at the top conducting it and he can be the fall guy in 3 or 5 years with a golden parachute. Modern day leverage, make the product worse via slash and burn but continually increase the price, that's a modern day tact with the rise of these ultra rich.
Now industry creation in itself, obviously there's benifits and drawbacks that both have to be weighed out. Mass job creation but is it, good job creation or off the back of lobbying a ton of highly unfavourable labour laws that the set a precedent for every other after. You don't have to look far in America to see worker rights have completely declined and in some States borderline non existent off the back of lobbying efforts.
But overall America has always obsessed over its Billionaires, I'm confident that the American Dream is played on TV at every birthing room on loop like one of those Army recruitment commercials that are supposed to get you hyped.
Still failed to list two things even if I believed you brother.
Billionaires are the reason 95% of the population are even able to stay alive.
(Btw I do believe you on hunting and fishing for sure as I believe you said you were Canadian and those things are very common there.)
