Oof, not sure if they have a fix for 24H2 but it is ruining performance across the board. Tried looking to see if they fixed it but I didn't find anything :( you'll probably have to talk to some people used to running multiple clients on 23h2/24h2 to see if they took a hit recently too

If it still shows that speed after clicking validate there's something wrong with the XMP profile, or it's unstable and reverts back. You changed it & then enabled it right? You might also need to adjust the voltage to 1.250V if it's a different value

well I changed it and then saved the BIOS settings :) the pc then rebootet few times.

I will try it tomorrow again and see whats up - thanks for the help so far

Ah if it did try to reboot a couple times, it sounds like the speeds you set aren't stable. Google your motherboard and look up XMP settings for it and it should point ya in the right direction, but you might not get the 5200 speeds as advertised with 4 sticks :)

Good luck! Let me know how it goes

just to call it a day:

I configured the XMP Profile 1 (it used to say frequency = 5200. Now that I checked BIOS again it says "Auto").

Also it wont let me set any values other than selecting the memory profile (with given values) ...

I gonna try the XMP Profile 2 tomorrow with 4700

Derp… for some reason I was thinking dram frequency was the amount of MTs instead of the MHz. I guess they changed naming conventions for ddr5 for some reason lol. Try putting 2600 in the dram frequency for XMP. You might need to set the timings manually though

I didnt do anything yet, but I've found this source saying, that CPU-Z doesnt show the effective memory speed of the RAM but only half of it, because DDR = Double Data Rate and CPU-Z shows the effective clock frequency. Task manager on the other side shows DDR (in MT/s) when you check your RAM's.

So again this would mean, that my RAM's are configured to run at 1000 MHz (2000 MT/s) currently out of the 2600 MHz (5200 MT/s) it could possibly run at.

Or is this because I have 4x RAM's installed so it is technically (5200/4 = 1200Hz) where 1000 would be "close" to 1200?

Correct, I was used to pre-ddr5 where they used Mhz in place of MTs. Try putting 2600 and the right timings and it should give you over twice the speed you used to have :)

But with 4x RAM's installed I would end up at 1300MHz instead of the 997Mhz I got now (see post #14) right? So it may only be a minor improvement, if even possible?

Should be 2600MHz, since your ram runs at 5200 MTs. So an extra 1600MHz. If you can’t get past 997MHz you might have a bad ram stick or a motherboard issue going on

I did some testing with the standard profilies, before manually changing the parameters in the BIOS.

Result: with the original two factory RAM's installed I managed to get up to 5200 MT/s (XMP 1 Profile). When having 4x RAM's installed (by adding the new bought RAM's) I only manage to get to 2000 MT/s with the two XMP Profiles in the BIOS.

The next step would be to manually set the BIOS parameters, but I am kinda afraid of it. Do you have any suggestions? I mean I think I would have to change all parameters manually probably

RAM Slots:
#1/#3: KF552C40BBAK2-32 ("new bought RAM's" - Label says 1.25V which according to datasheets indicates XMP Profile #1 5200)
#2/#4: HP52U40S8HM-16FRAE ("factory RAM's" - Label it says: 16GB 1Rx8 XMP5 - 5200 - UAO - 1010 -XT)

Standard profiles which can be selected in BIOS:
- Default
- Custom
- XMP1 5200 (screenshot below)
- XMP2 4800 (screenshot below)

Sounds like your motherboard doesn’t support speeds higher than 2000 MTs with 4 sticks installed(atleast the ones you bought)

Did you test what speeds you get if you install only the two new ram sticks? Small possibility that one of them is bad and causing the others to slow down too
