Hey experts

Since like 1-2 months I am having issues running multiple Diablo 2 Resurrected instances simultaniously. Before I was running like 4x Copies without issues. But after I upgraded from 32 GB RAM (2x 16) to 64 GB RAM (4x 16) i started having problems. Now since 1-2 months my dedicated GPU Memory is constantly at the limit.

Important to note is, that I am running all D2R copies at max resolution. I know this is kinda demanding, but it worked before without issues. I have to look into that again, but last time I have downscaled one of two running copies it didnt change anything on the dedicated gpu memory usage (always close to 12 GB). I also tried to look into all the running processes and eventually close those which are not needed.

Does anybody could have a clue what could be the issue? THANKS bro's

Speccs:
- i7 13700K
- 4x DDR5 16 GB Kingston 2600 MHz
- RTX 4070 Ti with 12 GB dedicated GPU memory

Do the RAMs all have the same CL and MHz? If timings table show it, then maybe different Cas Latencies causes some interfering?

yes I explicitly bought exact same RAM's for this reason. It also worked for a while. I heard some have reset their driver (nvidia issue) ... but what do I know :)

it seems like the CAS latency idication differs from minute to minute (so I assume thae diagnosis tools always shows me slightly different values).

But what I am also seeing is, that #3 and #4 RAM now show different timings-table standards as well as different Frequencies compared to orignal post: In initial post both were XMP-52000 and now one is XMP-4800. Also the Frequencies are inconsistent (2600 Mhz vs 2400 Mhz).

I absolutely have no clue about such things ... I mean i know about electronics, and I can understand what I read, but I dont know about how to interprete or what they mean in terms to other systems/parts/functions ...

here the dedicated GPU memory usage (dedizierter GPU-Speicher in German)

and here the overview with the tasks ... its weird .. so many sub-tasks for the battlenet launcher:

Maybe a good idea to deinstall and reinstall everything?

iGPU, these times graphics get darker and creepy, d2r used alot graphic memory than system memory.

4 sticks of DDR5 has been notoriously less stable than 2 stick configs. This is why most places recommend going from 16gbx2 to 32gbx2 or 1x64gb if you're going to upgrade, then putting them in the designated spots for your motherboard.

Also are you positive you bought the exact same ram? Not familiar if it's normal, but on your CPU-Z it's showing one set is EXPO and the other is XMP... usually it's one or the other so you might have either bought an XMP/EXPO set by mistake or something might be wrong with your BIOS config?

Actually I see you might have bought two different sets... Slot #2 is HP52U40s8HM-16FRAE and slot #1 is KF552C40BB-16. One made by hynix the other by Samsung. Tried looking for specs on HP52U40S8HM-16FRAE and one page said it could be a DDR5-4800 set which explains the 2400Mhz speeds. You could open your PC and check the sticker on each ram stick to confirm the model. While you're doing that you can also test out removing the newer ram you bought and seeing if the issue persists. You will most likely be out of VRAM/Dedicated GPU memory still but you can see if your issues are better

Also have you installed the BIOS update that fixed the Intel 13th gen issue? That could explain voltage issues

Edit: You can try capping FPS to 60 in the NVIDIA Control panel. Uncapped FPS could be a major strain

Thanks bro. Will try out.

Well I checked as much as I could when buying the new RAM's, but all those details were not really displayed on the page I bought it. I know about the fact, that 2x RAM' are known to perform better.

I checked the labels:
#1/#3: KF552C40BBAK2-32 (original ones. Label also says 1.25V which according to datasheets indicates XMP Profile #1 5200)
#2/#4: HP52U40S8HM-16FRAE (on the label it also says: 16GB 1Rx8 XMP5 - 5200 - UAO - 1010 -XT)

So I'd say all labels indicate to be 5200.

I noticed the different manufacturer names already, although I was assuming, that this shouldnt be significant, as I expect the RAM's to be manufactured according to speccs.

Ty for confirming! Yeah looks like the right set then

Ah nvm, I was reading the SPD tab on CPU-Z wrong. Everything looks good, so maybe your new set of RAM is switching over to the secondary timing for some reason. If you customized an XMP profile i'd switch it to default or set it up again from scratch to make sure everythings good

But now I asked chatGPT and he says that HP52U40S8HM-16FRAE may be a 4800 ... Omg

I'd ignore chatgpt. Only way it could be 5200 is if the factory mislabeled it

how can I do this? in BIOS?
I just noticed that in the first post - the picture is only Slot #1. lemme quickly make a screenshot of all 4x slots

yeah I never just trust chatGPT ;)
