Weird. If we go hunting I'd just share rifles with fam and eventually they will go to me and then if i have kids to my kids

yeah my dad is married to a democrat whose brother blew his head off with a gun.

So my dad's 3rd wife hates guns, and he basically takes on his bullshit wife's stances on everything

I literally had to call the cops on him today because he was going to give them away to whoever and not pay me anything for them. If anyone remembers my life story back in 2019 I got a felony for kicking two doors down (when I was black out drunk) because my “friend” lost something of mine worth $1,300 USD that my mom had given me as a present years back. Anyway the two guns are legally mine but since that I kicked two doors down incident I got 1 felony out of that. So now I have to wait 3 years to be able to get a shot at getting my guns rights back.

My friend Adam came up with a good idea though, we can give the two guns my dad has to an FFL in Modesto California, then we can have them
Shipped from that FFL owner to someone who has an FFL in Oregon or Washington state. Once that happens I can sell the guns to my friend Adam for 3 years and he can sell me them back in 3 years when I can legally own them. I’m just worried my dad is going to do something dumb
Like give my two guns to the police station, because “evidence gets lost” etc

Do people really live like this?!? Good grief...... :bonk:

It sounds like you're in a really tough situation with a lot of legal and personal stress. It's understandable that you’re trying to find a way to get your guns back without breaking any laws, especially considering your past felony charge. The idea that Adam suggested, involving an FFL to transfer the guns to a different state temporarily, could be a way to work around the restrictions, but it’s important to be cautious. The legal details surrounding gun transfers and ownership rights are tricky, and anything that even remotely looks like circumvention could cause further legal trouble.

I totally get the worry about your dad doing something that might make things worse. It can be really frustrating when other people don't fully understand the legal complexities of these situations. It might help to have a calm conversation with him about the potential consequences and what could happen if the guns are handed over to the police or otherwise mishandled.

If you're unsure about the specifics of how to handle the situation, it could be worth consulting a lawyer who specializes in gun laws to make sure you're navigating things correctly and staying within legal boundaries.

In any case, I hope you're able to resolve this without further complications!
