Almost every night?

OKC has one of the best defenses of all time, statistically speaking. SGA plays a part in that. They're loaded with defenders, and they don't ask him to be on the ball regularly as that would be stupid (and they don't need him to). Still doesn't take away from what he does though and he makes plays with elite help defense too.

SGA is a far better defender at his position than Jokic is at his. We can safely put it that way. SGA is what most consider a "good" defender, or above average. While Jokic is regularly criticized for being one of the worst rim protectors in the league as the biggest player on the court who can't defend in space either.

Good luck having a good defense with a center who can't move and doesnt protect the rim. Teams target Jokic on the regular. There's a reason their defense is ass and Jokic is at the top of that list of reasons lol.

you know its bad when you have to compare jokic's defense to sga's to try to make your argument. sga is probably the 5th best guard defensively on his own team.
he got targeted yesterday and denver scored 140

SGA absolutely did not get targeted wtf

But yes, the argument started around MVP talks, no? I mean SGA carries the offensive load for OKC as much as any player in the league does for their team and he still manages to play good defense most of the time. That says a lot.

With SGA on the court, OKC offensive rating is #1 in the NBA.

With SGA off the court, OKC has the 28th ranked offensive rating.

They rely a little too much on him to carry offensively which could bite them in the ass come playoff time.

Fouls Hali while up 3 on a 3PA and he makes it. 4 pt play. Loses them the game.

This Denver Nuggets team has net rating of -9.39 without Jokic on the floor ranking them second to last (Washington Wizards with -11.2) while when Jokic is on the floor the rating bumps all the way up to 11.94 a 21.33 net rating swing.

Yes, similar reliance as SGA except the Nuggets have Murray who has proven to be a postseason superstar and can be the #1 scorer when they need.

OKC doesn't have that...yet. Guys like J-Will and Chet are very good, but are they ready to step up when defenses throw everything at SGA to slow him? We'll see.

Speaking of Jamal Murray....

He's balling out again after a slow start to the season. Seems like it happens every year. I know he had the injury to recover from this time though.

Check his eFG%. Pretty insane:
