I don't personally like Toronto and would never visit. Unfortunately it still remains an epicentre for certain things. But I cant stand any place that's more than a few thousand people these days so my opinion on what's "nice" isn't worth much.

Yes? I guess? Obviously real-estate is but everything where I reside is ultra expensive, 25 for a jug of juice, 15 for 1kg rice, 44 for 5 chicken breasts, etc. so when I go south to Toronto or Edmonton everything feels incredibly cheap.

But obviously I recognize Canadians are struggling financially but the average credit card debt for a Canadian is lower than the average credit card debit for a person the USA.

I'd say the average Joe americans are struggling just as much.

Any way to answer the question to the OP. It's pretty simple why Canada and Mexico are targeted with higher tariffs. They have less economic power and we have less reliance on their trade. Not to underestimate the important of the corporation between the American nations but China has the means to fuck up more industries than the other two do. Trump knows this.
