As a Stars fan I felt like this was a great addition at the right time.

Hiskanen's injury on top of Seguin/Lundkvist being out long term as well made this a no-brainer for Stars GM Jim Nill.

Despite the injuries above the Dallas Stars are on top of their game and come playoff time it'll be great to see Rantenen's return to Colorado. Very likely they meet up considering the Central division has been(Dallas/Colorado/Winnipeg/Minnesota).

I'm more happy we are adding another LETHAL Finnish hockey player to our arsenal.

Hintz(C)/Hiskanen(D)/Rantanen(L)/Granlund/Lindell(D)------Would be awesome to throw these 5 Fins' together and let SUOMI magic happen

Carolina will miss him in a 7 game playoff series the same way Colorado will.

The Stars not only needed him because of injuries but also because guys like Jamie Benn/Tyler Seguin/Matt Duchene/Evegeni Dadonov are at the tail end of their careers.

He is not an elite-elite player but he's exactly what the Stars need for a deep playoff run again this year and long term offensive talent.

This is the most confident I've been as a Stars fan in 25 years because the Pacific is a joke in the West now aside from Edmonton and the Jets/Wild paper tiger reg-season warriors. Colorado has the best chance of beating Dallas and they no longer have Rantanen. When Rantenen went to Carolina I rejoiced because he gave us hell last playoffs and I was glad he went to the East.

If Rantenen went to any other playoff contender in the West it'd make me nervous because he's an impact player you don't want to deal with in a game 6 do or die.

edit: Can he flop and suck? Of course! But Dallas is more of a "system" team under Pete DeBoer and he's a perfect plug-in for how they play their game.

idk man rod is one of the best coaches in the league and if he can’t fit in under brindimore then how’s deboer guna do any better?

aho is as good as any other fin but when there’s no chemistry you can’t just throw him in and expect fireworks

he had played with the aves for a while, gaining chemistry as they played and practiced

he will never be the same hall of famer as before, put money on that.

I'm a big fan of the Hurricanes I hate almost all Eastern Conference teams but I like them. They are a structured team like Dallas with depth. Good goalie to boot. Dallas though has more depth then Carolina just facing big injuries to key players right now.

The Metropolitan division is a joke this year. Caps will flail. Rags will flail. Devils will flail. Hurricanes will make the deeper run and lose to the Panthers/Leafs/Lightning somehow. Same is true for Dallas they can get stumped by Edmonton again but I don't think the Oilers have the mojo this year.

Dallas without Hiskanen rest of season. Nils Lunqvist out. Seguin out. Hintz/Marchment on and off random injuries and yet Dallas is still 40-20. A fully healthy Dallas team is probably 48-12.

As a Stars fan this year I fear no team in the west, not saying we can't lose first round but I don't think Rantenen is going to "hurt" the team lol.

You know Dallas is having a good year when they are beating the Canucks Out of all teams to have the Stars number last several years it's been them and now they can't beat us. That's a good sign! Nothing against the Canucks I hope they sneak in and knock out Edmonton/Vegas because those two are paper tigers on God. My dream would be Stars vs Canucks WCF and then Stars vs Leafs/Sens/Hurricanes SCF

This is the best Stars team I've seen in my lifetime even eclipsing the Modano era if they can win the cup "LEGIT" for the first time. It'd be a great way to capstone a 25 year grind back to the Finals. It makes for a good story but this isn't the NFL/NBA this is the NHL LOL and they won't get any favors along the way.

Would be ultra epic if Seguin/Heiskanen made it back for playoffs(at any point)
