You can create news articles by using AI with a certain narrative. You can flood comment sections with bots of your choice to support that narrative. You can create whole networks with Deepfakes to support a narrative. For the occasional reporting, only a cameraman team is required. You need one redacteur to put the front page of a newspaper with ai-generated articles together, maybe correct some phrasings or add some words and voila => MSM of the 21th century
I think the time will come where every citizen of a country is required to have their own identification number in a data base, so when they register somewhere and do something online, you know you're actually conversing with a real person.

Who needs a fail-able human news source, when you can inject propaganda into the only tool available for learning and information.
no need to read books, learn from AI, no need for teachers, learn from AI.
wipe out 90% of the population and replace them with AI.
force AI into people's lives, their phones/tv/fridge/toaster/car.
just like the news paper and radio, tv is a doomed form of media.

Most of the internet is filled with the dumb stuff for now and AI would fail at the simple task of sending A to be to do stuff unless the subordinate isn't a robot designed to do exactly the stuff. There is also the assymetric timeline vs the real world. A computer could calculate super fast how to do some stuff but it'll still take time to implement in the real world and there you have conditions which require fluid intelligence, not sometbing already known.
