Those are CANADIAN jobs lost btw. They are just protecting their ability to exploit Canada.
(I’m sure American ones might follow to but it will be mostly Canadian and Mexican.)
American ones would most definitely follow since we do not currently have the capacity to fulfill orders.
For some reason people think that just because you put tariffs on foreign countries, that we (America in this case) can instantly start producing that product here. We can't. If it was more calculated and given time, it might be possible, but there are some things we literally can't produce here in America, and even if we could, it would still be more expensive because of labor laws that don't allow corrupt corporations to exploit their employees and pay them a few dollars a day for cheap product.
Next on the chopping block is half the IRS (up to half the IRS workforce fired). So now instead of actually taxing billionaires and millionaires, the IRS will focus purely on the average American. Why? Because our taxes are easier and require less manpower.
Thousands of Americans, including Trump voters, are getting fucked over. Vets are getting fucked over (Thousands of workers fired who provide VA assistance). Teachers are getting fucked over with dept of education being axed.
