So 4 years. Still not touching the US spending that much yearly solo when spread amongst nations.

I think you're missing the point a bit, as this isn't a dick measuring contest. The EU still doesn't have a desperate need to increase spending to US levels, as we're not looking to actively take on China like the US, so spending is mostly for EU defense at this time.

The US is already getting chummy with Russia. You don’t think China will be next? The EU has A LOT to worry about.

China produces a lot of cheap stuff, since they treat their people like dogs and that allows them to have really cheap manufacturing, which the US can't do, so partnering up with them will only happen if it is very advantageous to the US, which doesn't seem to be the case. Most likely Mexico will be stepped up for America's cheap manufacturing, it's cheaper for Trump to buy them.

Your thinking in dollar amounts, Europeans are poor.
You should be thinking in the terms of percentages of GDP.
Germans like to brag about their metal or tile roofs they put on their brick houses, and laugh at Americans for having asphalt shingles.
What they don't tell you is the poor German will pay interest on that 'last a lifetime roof' for 30 years before its paid off, while the American just had to hand over one pay check.

Mexico is hated almost as much as China here in 2025. It’s a new era man. The winds of change are coming. Make sure to tie down anything and anyone you value dearly.

You wouldn't think this from European reporting about the need to stick their collective dicks in a light socket over Ukraine.

You forget to mention how poor manufacturing quality is in Mexico and how great of a challenge this is for process engineers in these companies that offshore.
You have to make the manufacturing labor able to produce consistent results with what amounts to a labor force of drunk illiterate people who cannot read a tape measure and get sleepy after lunch.
I've witnessed this first hand in a company that tried to offshore for the Trinity Rail Company.

Only if you're planning on spending a lot more on most things you buy thanks to these tariff wars. America won't be able to produce things as cheap as they currently sell for without relying on cheaper countries.

The "europoors" meme, really? EU GDP is 20 trillion, US is 27 trillion.

https://www.nerdwallet.com/article/mortgages/roof-replacement-cost with the average household income at 66K, that sounds like two or more paychecks, not everyone is a doctor.

I’m thinking multiple nations (much older nations than the US) spending as much or less of an increase total TOGETHER over 4 years than the US spends in ONE.

This is why Trump thought Zelensky was disrespectful. This is why he probably thinks our NATO allies and border neighbors are being disrespectful. All these years and not many “thank you’d” in fact some think they contribute just as much to the alliance as the US which is absolute garbage.

I guarantee Russia feels the same way about WW1 & 2. Tons of work and zero respect.
