AoE4

The monk, used as a economic unit, beating the villager in cost and profits.
Villager cost 50food (and a towncenter) and 75wood for a farm (+expensive upgrades), before it can produce things.
Base farm and mining rate is like 45 resources per 1min. But requires mines, forests, trade and defend.
Quote
A Japanese villager 45 food farmrate*1.6 upgraded towncenter (costing 2050stone)=72food per min
A Lategame English villager can produce 45*1.3*1.3(Civ bonus farm)=76food per min+10gold per min(another MASSIVE upgrade)
Comparison:
50food villager cost +(75*1.1difficulty rate)wood farm cost+40*1.2stone cost for upgrades = 180,5resources to produce 72food per min
A Monk = 55gold +10*1.1wood cost to produce 25*1.8gold per min=45
villager = 2.5resource invested for 1resource per min
Monk = 1.47
Monk 70%more resources per min per invested resources
Monk cost 2.88/1.8=1.6 more population then villager (60%) in resource gathering effectiveness
This crossbows shooting horse, bad like all ranged units, but in the late game, when massed, they do better.
I used armored melee infantry (low gold big food)
and Mounted Samurai have a similar effects
I get 50Monks asap, and 80monks total, and not build another towncenter to produce villager , unless they get all wiped away
About 50-60villigers on farms will do
This is for 4vs4,
when unit speed and infinity is huge
