Hey!

Many years ago I used to help people with builds here.

And I used to run a custom PC building company in my local area.

But over the last 3 years I have been carrying out a move to Portugal.

Finally I will have a steady place to live and want to build a rig for my work.

Are there any folks who know the best place to order components?

Anyone want to suggest me a build (computer only) for 2.5-3k Euro?

Mainly for work (meetings, light video editing) and some moderate gaming.

Thanks!!

You can easily snag a beefy build with your budget. 9800x3d/7900xt etc (depending on video editing software of choice).

I already have the video editing software subscription. Really mostly editing simple/boring videos for my industry explaining features and doing demos etc.

Genuinely feeling so out of the loop on parts.

And finding it hard to know where to order from in Portugal.

I am feeling very out of the loop for components but have always been an AMD guy.

Any suggestions on a MOBO?

I want a PCIe Gen 5 SSF is it worth it?

Any suggestions on a Radeon GPU that is not insane price?

I see vertical GPUs is a thing now, how do I know compatibility for that?

PSU wise for that CPU you mentioned, is 1k enough or overkill? 800 fine? Need 1200?

Any suggestions on water cooling block? 360 needed for that CPU or is 240 ok?

Thanks in advance broo

Most x870 mobo is fine
PCIe 5 run hot just stick with good 4 with warranty
Personally not into vertical GPU, just need a case that supports vertically mounting them
850+ w is fine
water cooling is not needed, high end air cooler works nicely unless you prefer the look of an AIO (nearly all 240+ will be fine)

Rough-in build -

Thanks G!

So strange to see the CM 212 CPU cooler sell for over $100, when I started it was 30-40 CAD

For the CPU - it is new, what is the likelyhood a new MOBO will need a BIOS update? I hate doing that.

I haven't used a CM 212 for years, there's soo many better options now lol

You will not need to update the motherboard, the base bios version (F2) supports all AM5 CPUS's.

Any reason you suggested the H7 flow case?

I think I would prefer something smaller.

I really used to love the Corasair Carbine 100R and the NZXT Source 210

I am considering the Corsair 4000D RS - any thoughts?

No reason in particular, the 4000D is also a great option.

I have never been a Noctua fan - do they have a non ugly brown version of the cooler you recommended?

E/ Seems this is it: https://www.amazon.es/dp/B07Y87YHRH/ref=asc_df_B07Y87YHRH?language=pt_PT&mcid=00bdb06f768339c9901f71776645fd63&tag=ptgogshpadde-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=633607975178&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=587985469590899402&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=20871&hvtargid=pla-825992388602&th=1
