The current Polish PM, Donald Tusk, is a puppet of the EU and a center-left figure by Polish standards - it's just that the Polish political landscape is really conservative by the standards of most other countries, so even someone who is center-left by Polish standards will sound like a right-wing figure to most foreign observer.
Also note that Tusk and his pro-EU coalition have a very tenuous hold on power, they are under immense political pressure from the staunchly right-wing PiS party which was in power before them. Therefore, he has no other choice than to hold the line on migration and produce lots of snappy sound bites.
All in all, Tusk is still one of the better European leaders, though.
Regarding the topic of this thread, I'm with babun: let the rest of Europe pay the Brits and French for extending their nuclear umbrella. I want neither the clowns in Brussels nor the buffoons running/ruining my own country in charge of nukes.
The only reason Poland isn't an effeminate sissy country like much of the EU is because their post WW2 experience was under the USSR.
