Like I already explained earlier :

Fire immunes are the most prevalent, and they tend to be the tankiest mobs.
Almost all fire immunities are not broken by infinity.
Without FF its useless to use a fire sunder.
You end up doing only half your CE dmg vs all the most tanky problematic mobs.
If however you use FF (and look! A facet in shield!) those sundered mobs are now down to 58% fire res -> that’s a 21% total phys/fire dmg increase to a skill that is 95%+ of your total dmg output.

I agree. The perfect -15% FF is the optimal clear speed choice. There is no way to increase your damage on CE aside from the - fire res. Shako maybe for survival in HC.

You get +10% fire and -10% fire. Fire immunes can be taken care of by using Amplified Damage instead of lower resistance. Physical Sunders grant 100% effectiveness for Amplified Damage.

The reality is that it doesn’t slow you down fire immunes or not. Most problematic comes from the fact that CE scales terribly into higher player counts.

Learn the basics first…

+% fire doesn’t work.

You never ever use lower res, always amp.

It’s not even close.

I think FF benefits greatly out weigh trying for a little more fcr. I guess it may depend if your solo farming(like i would be)
Or trying to rush TZ in pubs 🤷‍♂️

My 125fcr build:

Corpse Explosion – Level 36
Damage: 8079–13,850
Physical Damage: 4091–7013
Fire Damage: 3988–6837
Cast Rate: 9 frames (2.78 casts per second)

Jab – Level 26
Damage: 7540–18,290
Attack Rate: 9 frames per 2 hits (5.56 hits per second)
Damage per Second: 68,162
Attack: 68,162
Crushing Blow: up to 3084 damage per second
Time to kill: 0.08 seconds

Sin 75fcr build:

Corpse Explosion – Level 36
Damage: 8182–14,026
Physical Damage: 4091–7013
Fire Damage: 4091–7013
Cast Rate: 10 frames (2.5 casts per second)

Jab – Level 26
Damage: 7899–19,303
Attack Rate: 9 frames per 2 hits (5.56 hits per second)
Damage per Second: 71,784
Attack: 71,784
Crushing Blow: up to 3084 damage per second
Time to kill: 0.08 seconds

I don't want to say that my build is best. Like I said, it's not. Sin got the best dmg max/min build.

My point is for MY playstyle, it's enough. When I do P1, everything blow. When I do P8, we are usualy 8 other players chilling arround so everything blow even if I don't do full dmg.

At the end, you have to make the build that fit for your.

All the extra damage you're getting from negative enemy res doesn't show up on paper though?

Switch the target to fire immune now ;)

What you’ll notice?
The FF build deals enough combined fire/phys dmg to 1-hit kill the same type of mobs.
The other build needs 2.
You don’t “save 1 frame”, you lose 9.

I made this 125fcr/86fhr/max res/no str - max vit version of Fishymancer.

https://maxroll.gg/d2/d2planner/0ny10ng5

It's not the best optimise dmg build like Sinofthesun but I was trying to make something qol with 125fcr (i love to teleport).

HF!

Edited to fit the same lvl/buff than Sin:

It’s not always amp, when you meet physical immunes, it’s lower resistance.

XD

That was enough to completely discredit anything you’ll ever say on the subject.
