Recently been involved in a bit of directing , managing , helping , and hands on working to make a great , friendly place for all who want to fit the bill to enjoy. Maintenance in the hospitality business. I'm a hands on person, can tackle whatever the situation may be , plumbing , electrical , HVAC , grounds work. The eyes that matter see this for I have proven myself in the work accomplished but to the point.. I'm still *new* (2months ish and have good relations with the high ups/ others) and someone who has been there for 9 months or so that is through a task program who lives in housing provided just doesn't like me for his reasons, been apologized for shit I really didn't start but to this person there's no other way then the way they see and I'm trying to make it work without any authority figure involved but this gentleman def has a lot to say about me to the higher up and tonight right in front of me about not liking me so bottom line and to sum it up if I'm not his boss he won't help with any thing said.

How could you correct a person that's like this towards you? Or stop now , give up , let it dig it's own grave?

Only other thing to do now is to do it for free.

Well it's a time share joint and most rooms are 7-9k$ USD a night so a lot of calls made to light a fire or whatever is needed comes our way and we make it real nice for the ones who can fit this bill.

Co workers not so much which is why I came here with this reality of mine

1. give it more time, minimize interactions with this person.
2. keep working even if it doesnt get better.
3. starting looking for a new work provider if things don't improve in months to come.
4. hope the new work provider doesn't have shit employees, it looks bad if you job hop often.

When I had a shitty coworker I just flat out said "Do you enjoy being an asshole and bringing others down? Work is hard enough without you making it even worse". Assholes can make the day drag on forever

Your post was kind of hard to read tho. If you are usually a really nice person it will sometimes surprise assholes if you give them a taste of their own medicine. Best advice is ignore them or patronize them when they're being a dick. "You know everyone hates you and your attitude right?"

Take it up with the boss. If there is intelligent leadership, they will listen. If it's bad leadership, it will never get better, and unless you're desperately in need for the job, start looking for other jobs. And be clear on that in the future, with future leadership, that a clean and professional working environment is extremely important to you and that you won't accept work if there isn't intelligent leadership.
