why Ilhan Omar married her brother
we know her brother was brought to America because he's gay and the somalis were vehemently anti-homo and thought they could straighten him out by bringing him from london to a somali community, except its minneapolis lmao
we know she was actually married to her real husband, just not legally, except she eventually cheated on him and broke up with him
But its really not clear what the point of the fake marriage was. The brother did
not get a spousal visa. Its possible one or both of them received fraudulent student loans premised on a marriage, but nobody has the evidence of that just speculation. And since Ilhan, her real husband and brother were all living in an apartment together its not like their immigration fraud when they entered the country under a fake name and then split up with the real Omar family who went to Virginia while the Nur Said Elmis went to Minnesota.
So yeah she kind of draws this type of abuse onto herself when she clumsily covers up her marriage fraud, but the actual story is somewhat mundane, she immigrated illegally to get in the country, she had a fraudulent marriage for reasons unknown, she illegally used campaign bucks to try to cover it up, but eh that's about it, no grand conspiracy just a bunch of retards who thought they could delete facebook posts to hide themselves openly talking about the family they pretended not to have
