Not quite, doubling the usa booze price would be capitalism.

Taking the option away from the canadian people is clearly socialist.

Forcing businesses to supply an expensive and unpopular product would be socialism.

So what you're suggesting is Canada would benefit from becoming a Us State?

Americans are overworked, underpaid, consume food that isn't fit for human consumption and are one medical condition away from bankruptcy at all times.

If you are a high income individual life would undoubtedly be better in some parts of the USA

If you are not high income (and 95% of jsp is in this category) then life would be better in Canada

Yes we have our problems with having gone too far left. Was hoping to get a conservative majority in even though I don't like pierre but that moron in the white house has messed everything up.

For the record, we don't have federal health care but almost every state has programs for free healthcare that cover 100% of the cost without the wait Canadians experience. If you need a new hip you gonna get that bad boy in a week or so easy.

Also, if you work a real job they offer it for free with a very low deductible
example for myself when I worked for Intel as an engineer they paid 100% of my health and welfare. Including life insurance and lots of things. Amazing benefits when you have a career here. Not so much McDonalds and small companies and such but thats what the programs are for.

Lastly, we have lots of unions here. Join a Teamster union and you will have to pay union dues per month ($50-$100) but thats nothing compared to our much stronger economy offering way more money. You'd still be on top and have fantastic healthcare. That covers your entire family no matter how many kids you have

Issue with Canada is everything is free without any work. So you guys experience much longer wait times leading to a lower quality of life.

I suppose they wouldn’t be ruled by socialists anymore.

If America made the policies for them, they would probably live better.
For example, ICE going to Canada to deport all those Indians. Well, all illegals.

Also, maybe Musk and his team can look into the fraud of the Canadien government. Maybe there is some shit in there.

However, as some members pointed out in the other thread that too many leftists live in Canada. Therefore, it would be like California and help democrats win elections. So maybe it isn’t a good idea. lol.

Canada should be a territory, not a state. Just like Puerto Rico.
If you live in Canada, you simply can’t vote.
Just be happy America removed the filth and protects you.

Hard pass. Canada is a better place to live by just about every metric and unlike some of the people on this forum, I have no desire to be "dominated".

The only thing Canada would benefit from is an absence of tarrifs, but that point is moot once Trump croaks or Dems get back in power. Maybe slightly higher income too, but that doesn't offset the long list of negatives.

I'd rather have slightly more power with my vote than be a droplet of water in the ocean of piss that is the US. Anyway, I was referring to the Canadians here fawning over Trump and demanding to get fucked over by the US.

I've heard this is only true in high income brackets. The narrative as I understand it for common folk is that insurance companies will find ways to drop you the moment they have to start paying out this is one of the reasons medical bills is still the leading cause of bankruptcy in the US.

Your experience at Intel is not indicative of the average Americans experience with health insurance afaik. If that wasn't the case why would there be unanimous support from the left and the right for that guy who assassinated the health insurance ceo?

I'll grant that income can easily double by going over to the states depending on the field. And yes as someone that pays a lot of taxes I would love to see massive spending cuts here in Canada. Something like doge but preferably run by someone more sensible.
