Today was.... A bit excessive. $220 in local ribeye and filet steaks. Off a farm just next to me, cattle had only been dead about 2 days including processing. Was super super good for our family get together.
Plus I saw they had duck eggs and local cheeses. Just $400 at that store alone. $140 in Diesel roughly for the pickup. Then liquor store for $120ish for crown, knob creek and a bottle of low end vodka

What the ! 140$ in diesel? How you drive so far to get there?

But 400$ can be a good deal if the quality is good, and it's always down to the average price. If it's not that much higher than supermarket, it's not a bad deal.

How are duck eggs different to hen eggs?

And yeah, let me give you a tip, low end vodka, don't do that, it's guaranteed to give you a headache the day after ^^ It's like the fusel remains. Either buy quality vodka or don't buy it. Good vodka is like drinking smoothness. But .... you may get lucky and get a good portion.

Well I live in a more rural area now so just getting to like my families area is about 50 miles. I choose to have a performance truck and it gets me about 6mpg cause it makes around 600hp to the wheel and rolls coal (extra fuel in the mix for fun)
So just a one way trip is around $30 in diesel. $50-$60 round trip.

It's way way way higher than the super market but its also WAY up in quality. I was very very impressed. I got 4 NY Steaks for about $135. ( I said ribeye in my original post but messed up it was NY strip) Which we split into strips with various other dishes to feed 10 of my family members.
Couple of filets thrown in there aswell at about $120 for the 3. $80ish/lbs

On average NY strip is $19.99/lbs here. I paid around $60/lbs. But the stuff at the super market is hella junk. USDA grade is a joke if you are a steak person like me.
If it looks bright red its pumped full of crap you should not be eating. It's a super dark red naturally so thats how you know it was processed by hand locally.
Actually the "low end" vodka I purchased is called Monopolowa. Its cheaper in price for sure, but it would absolutely stack up better than like Grey Goose and other leading competitors.

Depends on the breed of duck. These are Muscovy ducks so its not as rich. Runner and call ducks have really rich eggs, mostly meant for baking.
But Muscovy meat and eggs are my favorite of all the duck breeds.

edit, tho if you ever have low end liquor just put it through a Brita filter. Immedaitely makes it 10x quality.
I hardly ever go to a market. I hit local farms and ranches around me and mostly only eat meat. So. Works out well. I dont need that crap lmao if I can help it. When low on funds then yeah, sure
