Doesn't shock me at all. I'm fully aware that US Teams INVEST IN THEIR PLAYERS. Which is why the US wins the Stanley Cup every year for the last 31 years.

Just like the US pays real money to doctors, hence why there are Canadian doctors in every state and major city in the US.

Professional athletes go where teams are willing to invest in them. Canadian teams are unwilling to invest top dollar in top talent, so they've spent the last 31 years straight not being the best.

Thus, Canada is not the best. Go back a few pages, and you'll see where I openly state that Canada USE to be the best at Ice Hockey. They no longer are, nor have they been since 1993.

It's a simple fact. The best Team in the NHL is the team that wins the Stanley Cup. They ARE the Champion team. EVERY Champion team in the last 31 years has been a US team. We'll see in April if Canada can break that streak. Somehow? I doubt it.

you even out number us like 10:1 when it comes to population and still cant spit out better players... haha and all that funding you speak of

This isn't Major League Baseball. The NHL has a salary cap. You can't just buy a Cup like you can in that farce of a league.

Also I'd put my money on Winnipeg winning the Cup this year. Their best player? An American.

Besides, the number of Canadian-born players in the NHL is on the decline. For several years now. At the current rate, by 2050, Canada is unlikely to have any Canadian born players remaining in the NHL. Likewise, during the 1993 cup, 1/3rd of the teams in the NHL were Canadian teams. Now it's only 21.875%.

You're losing the sport altogether, friend. The trends are against you. So, AGAIN, Canada created the sport. Canada was ALWAYS the best at the sport. Until the 1993-1994 season. From that point onward, US Teams have reigned supreme, and show no sign of giving the "Best at Hockey" title back to Canada.

And for the umpteenth time, it's Canada, and it's teams, own fault, for failing to pay players what they're worth.

In the '70's, roughly 93% of all NHL players were Canadian.

By the '80's, it had dropped to 75%.

During the 1993-1994 season it was 65.3%.
