ukraine started the war, they went against their treaty trying to join nato.
i can understand ukraine's appeal to join nato, but ukraine has been part of russia and its culture for a very long time. by trying to create a scenario where russia would have to war with the world to basically interact as it was with ukraine, they forced a war before that could happen
Which treaty is this?
Iirc the only agreement that was broken was assurances given by russia that ukraine could be independent if it gave up its nukes which it did

While all these weapons were located on Ukrainian territory, they were not under Ukraine's control.[4] In 1994, Ukraine agreed to transfer these weapons to Russia for dismantlement and became a party to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, in exchange for economic compensation and assurances from Russia, the United States and United Kingdom to respect the Ukrainian independence and sovereignty in the existing borders.[5][6] Years later, Russia, one of the parties to the agreement, invaded Ukraine.
