Morgan Freeman said it best when he spoke about black history month. This whole fabricated race war is so cancerous.

Are you talking about a statue of Kobe Bryant? How is this video related? Also how is a statue of Kobe Bryant political or relating to a fabricated race war?

Did I miss something here?

Trump said that he will enact a statue of Kobe Bryant. Why does he deserve a statue? For being good at basketball?

Kobe is a national Hero for surviving False Rape accusations, a unjust blight on this country that ruins a lot of innocent men's lives every year.
Every January 26th should be Innocents Day, a non-federal holiday (Like those leeches need another day off)

Wow what a hero. If that's what we are erecting statues for then you will need to do more than just 1 guy.

whenever they win 5 NBA championships, make 18 all star teams, win an NBA MVP, and win 2 gold medals

society reveres great athletes, Kobe will be far from the first athlete to have a statue of him erected

With federal monies?

Nah, I don't support any statue of any athlete being erected using taxpayer dollars. Now, if Trump convinces some private individual or company, or spends his own money to erect a statue of Kobe? All good.

See the difference? I don't care what his sports accolades are. Nor do I care that he survived a false rape accusation. All I care about is that we're trying to ELIMINATE wasteful spending in the government.

Statues for particularly distinguished war heroes, or particularly impactful Presidents on the public dime? Sure, I can see it. As long as it's not a regular thing. Athletes? No. Never. That's shit that needs to be done via the private sector.

Though, if somebody wants to spend their personal coin on making a Kobe Statue, then get it approved to be erected in a national or city park, then pay the cost to properly erect it? Sure.

The theme of the month is the Department of Governmental Efficiency. There's nothing efficient about using tax dollars to erect statues of sportsball figures.

yeah I completely agree

question wasn't whether he deserved a statue on the taxpayer dime though, just what he did to deserve a statue, replete with snarky remarks about the Duke lacrosse team etc.

as far as I'm concerned no taxpayer dollars should go to erecting statues of anything

If it's not paid by our own taxes then do w.e. Athlete worship is the same as celebrity worship.
