you guys are going to have a hard time convincing anyone america is better at hockey if you cant win when it matters. dont ever forget bob, 55% for the last 30 years. that stat alone is all anyone intelligent would need.

I dont know, maybe the upchuck sisters could try figure skating or something...

What are you talking about? 100% of all Stanley Cups for over 30 years. Because we invest in the best.

It's why we get all the best doctors, engineers, scientists, and Athletes from Canada.

Start paying your people, and they'll stop abandoning Canada in favor of the US. Then Canada can start being good at things again. :)

sure as hell doesnt look like any Canadian players who play for american teams abandoned us for the final. look at the puck possession numbers from last night, you guys got owned despite only losing by 1.

That's what determines who's the best. For over 30 years, it's been a US team. If Canada is the best, why are US teams winning?

Your country created the sport, your country created the Stanley Cup (Championship). If you are the best, why can't you win it?

The mental gymnastics you attempt to pull is pretty crazy. "Canadians play for you, therefore they're Canadian wins!" No. No more so than Canadian Doctors opening shop in the US means they're part of the Canadian Healthcare System.

keep reaching for a valid argument. the question was about the nationality of the best players, not the locations of the teams they play for. mental gymnastics? youre talking nfl, cfl, doctors... cant stick with hockey, lol

This might shock you, but NHL franchises are allowed to sign players from other countries onto their rosters. Every team that has won the Cup has been flush with Canadian players, regardless of where the franchise is located.

The comparison of professional athletes to doctors is absurd, pro athletes play wherever they are drafted/traded/signed to, they don't have a choice of where to set up shop like a doctor or a lawyer. Absolutely braindead take lmao.

just chiming in, the statistical liklihood of this is pretty wild.

roughly = 7/32

(im too lazy to look up # of teams per year so that's just 30 years of the current NHL makeup where 7 out of 32 teams are canadian)

and i'd talk some smack, but im a Minnesota Viking's fan, and the stats on how we've never won a superbowl are equally depressing.
