Simple question. Do you still believe the USA is the most powerful military in 2025? A lot of things are changing around the world with other countries advancing at crazy speeds, Russia struggling in a conventional war against a country most don’t consider first world simply because it gets some first world aid. There’s also increased European spending and Chinese spending.

Oh, and don’t forget Canada won in hockey which somehow now translates to Trudeau insinuating the US couldn’t take Canada if it wanted(absurd thought but also hypothetically inaccurate if we were to assume the US ever went to war with its best ally.)

Regardless the world is changing and the military makeup will change with it. Will the USA be relevant at years end?

I believe the next Major war will be either Conventional, Nuclear or simply economic. Since the thread was more about current military power I’m ignoring the Economic. Nuclear I believe nations will avoid MAD doctrine or whatever.

I hope you are right. But some countries can survive MAD doctrine slightly better because even when 90% of their population gets wiped out they still have enough to fxxk and breed to get the decent population up within 50 to a 100 years.

The USA doesn't have enough nukes to wipe out anywhere near 90% of Russia's population, let alone China's.
Our Nuclear Forces aren't modernized by any standard, and the new upgrades in the future aren't going to increase capability.

USA has easily the most powerful military in the world and that ain’t changing anytime soon.

China has a lot of batman and batwoman and India has a lot of poop man and poop woman and I am not even sure what kind of new virus they can come out with.

Russia alone is outproducing all of NATO combined when it comes to weapons / ammo and everything needed in a protracted large scale land war like in Ukraine.

A huge issue here is production costs. Russia produces not only more of everything but way cheaper. How can you keep firing multi million dollar patriot missiles at waves of incoming Russian missiles. You can't.

US stockpiles (HIMARS missiles / patriot missiles / artillery pieces + ammo) have been drained and need to be replenished. The same applies to all other NATO members that gave their weapons to Ukraine.

China has even cheaper production. Just need to get some boys and girls to eat some bats and send them over for holidays.

The same can be said about their ability to demolish 90% of the US population. I do believe the US has more modernized nuclear forces than anyone else though. I’m almost 99.99999% sure a good chunk of Russian nukes haven’t even been serviced or looked at since the Cold War era.

I think China will defeat the USA economically ultimately.
