Musk's team is going to audit the gold reserves at Fort Knox. They're going to livestream the event

I think they wouldn't stream if everything was alright. They want to stream because they expect to find something outrageous and the MSM cannot do any damage control or spin it into something else during a live stream event.

I mean it's all smoke and mirrors anyway, they claim 20 million Medicaid users are fraudulent, that's about 23% of all users, that's the dumbest shit I have ever read.
They announced an 8 billion saving that was really 8 million..
Only maga cultists are falling for this stuff.

I lie will always travel much faster than a truth and you just don't need any of it to be true when you have a loyalist base. The lie did its job.

And the “8 billion dollars” that was actually 8-million dollars was an idiq contract. Of which the vast majority of idiq’s don’t hit their contracting caps. In reality this “8-billion dollar savings” probably saved a million or two.

This was one of my points pages ago. I’m sure they’ll find some wasteful spending, it’s sadly probably not that hard. I suspect they’ll also jump around haphazardly causing chaos causing more harm than good in areas too. But at the end of the day it’s political. And you can bet your ass some of these “wins” are gonna be misrepresented the hell out of.

Australians, Canadians, Euros, lefties-- all so desperate for this to fail.

Literally this exercise has minimal downside, costs next to nothing and even if they fail to meet their targets and accomplish only 10% of budget cuts would be viewed as a net positive. Why are you all so invested and hopeful for this to fail? Is the alternative of doing nothing such as it was under Biden better?

USAID was a $60B+ slush fund that greatly enriched Australians, Canadians, Euros, and Lefties.

There are doubtlessly many, MANY more departments within the Federal Government that are equally as bad or even worse.

The more DOGE uncovers and puts a stop to, the the more these people are seeing their gravy train disappear.

Of COURSE they're invested, and want to see DOGE fail. Wouldn't you, if you were in their position?

I think its more of the case that criticism or concern in some cases is seen as a direct attack and loyalists concluding that its a them hoping it fails,

This then sets off a huge chain of whatabouisms from die hard loyalists rather than ever being able to just breath in and say yeah that's probably a valid concern or criticism. Me saying that will likely just draw in a bunch of whatabouisms.

Its okay to be happy they're reviewing certain things but also have a valid criticism of something, its alright man Elon and Trump won't disown you and nor will your party. People have to get over this hump. You wont magically become blue if you express any form of criticism over your own party. People can have an opinion.

I myself in either this thread or one of the others said its probably a good thing to do after each administration change.

Why is all the onus on Republicans/Trump Supporters?

When we point out where DOGE has done a great job in cutting out waste, all we receive are whataboutisms. When we ask what DOGE has done wrong, all we get are whataboutisms and conspiracy theories.

When are the various factions of the left going to admit that, "Well yeah, there's a lot of waste, and it's good that Trump/Elon are doing something about it." ??

Had Biden reduced Federal spending back to the 4T prior mark, then promptly proceeded to cut waste, rather than maintaining a $7T a year spending profile when the federal government only brings in $3.5T/year in revenue, Republicans would have supported the move. Hell, Biden probably would have won a second term. Even Kamala might have won, had she supported the plan.

That's not what happened. So, you're wanting Trump supporters to criticize Trump/Elon. The question is, exactly WHAT are we supposed to criticize them for?

No whataboutisms, no conspiracy theories, no "but they could possibly do this thing". They're uncovering things that HAVE been done that are WRONG, and putting a stop to them. This is a good thing, and worthy of support. What have they done WRONG, that is worthy of criticism?

We're what, one and a half month into this and you've posted multiple times in this thread how this is an abject failure. Your criticisms are mostly that this shouldn't be even undertaken, or that it's political or you're bothered by some betting ads on the doge tracker.

I'm asking you for the alternative that you would prefer if you were an American? No audit, someone else do the audit? Like what exactly? Personally I'm more bothered about trillions of waste and no one giving a fuck about it, not the media, not politicians, saddling my kids with unimaginable debt that will either resolve itself in hyperinflation, or interest expense crowding out all other spend.

Even if these savings amount to peanuts so what? I rather them try and fail.
