Because it's not just IRS data it's literally all data in all programs that will all be on one place,he doesn't need to alter data for data to be compromised. It's not MY data it's the country's data that if it gets accessed by the wrong people could cause a mountain of problems

What sort of security measures is Elon putting into place to protect that data, equivalent to locking your door at night. Inproperly stored data can be compromised. Having read only access can be compromised.

Do you have evidence that the data is being used or even viewed in an unsecure way?

Last I heard, it's being accessed in Read-only format, offline. No chance of leaks or "stealing" the data.

Do you have evidence otherwise? I'd be interested to see it. Might even change my stance on DOGE being (thus far) a helpful thing.

Elon Musk, as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), has been granted access to a wide range of sensitive U.S. government data. This includes personal information of millions of Americans, such as Social Security numbers, bank account details, medical records, and financial data. Notably, DOGE has sought access to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) databases containing taxpayer information
APNEWS.COM
and the Treasury's payment systems, which manage Social Security benefits
CBSNEWS.COM
.

The rapid and extensive access granted to DOGE has raised significant concerns among lawmakers and privacy experts. Senator Jon Ossoff and others have warned that DOGE's access to government systems poses risks to national security and the privacy of Americans' personal information
OSSOFF.SENATE.GOV
. Reports have highlighted potential cybersecurity risks, especially given allegations that DOGE associates may not consistently adhere to federal security protocols, such as using personal devices on secure networks
LAWFAREMEDIA.ORG
.

Despite these concerns, a federal judge recently declined to block Musk and DOGE from accessing government data systems, allowing their activities to continue
THEGUARDIAN.COM
. However, specific details about the security measures implemented by Musk and DOGE to protect this sensitive data have not been publicly disclosed. The lack of transparency regarding data protection protocols has further intensified debates about the safeguarding of personal and national information under DOGE's purview.

NGL, I stopped reading here:

Some sources claim that the access granted to several DOGE associates—none of whom appear to be government employees or possess appropriate security clearances—includes “administrator-level privileges.”

This is false, they've only received Read Only access. So, the article is lying.

Do you have any reputable sources that aren't going to lie to me in the first paragraph?

You literally just discounted facts. Both the fact that the article lied in the first paragraph, and the fact that that makes it an unreliable source.

Once again, do you have a reliable source that is NOT going to lie to us in the first paragraph, or are you just farting into the wind?

Of course you did.

Trump was very transparent as to what role Musk will be playing in his cabinet.

And that's exactly the role he is playing right now.

Voters were informed perfectly. Unless, of course, you chose to be willfully ignorant...

I directly quoted, from the article you posted, where it lied in the first paragraph. I don't need to link anything. Copy what I quoted and use CTRL-F.

How can you have grown up with computers and the internet and be so helpless as to not locate a quote from an article you yourself posted? :o

No I'm asking you to prove it's false
All I see for read only access is treasury data not all data they have access to
So once again where the proof of your claims it's false?

So what information are you claiming they have administrative access to? All reports from the White House says Read Only access for all systems.

Further, the article indicates they should have security clearance and don't. What exactly do they mean? Like security clearance for classified information? Your tax forms are not classified information.

Once again, there were right around 90,000 full time IRS employees who had read/write access, and an unknown number of additional part time employees and consultants. The same applies to most, if not all other government systems.

I would argue that most of what you're worried about is nonsensical. What's pissing the anti-DOGE crowd off isn't that DOGE employees are able to see the waste. It's that they're being transparent in communicating to the public the waste they have located and eliminated.

The gig is up for the Swamp, and they're just mad.
