Read the declaration of independents & the constitution of the united states.

Go read it right now, don't reply, don't go watch tv, READ those documents.

I know you won't. Because the majority of people who claim to have read those documents have in fact not or don't understand them.
And it's shown by how they act, the information they spread and the agenda they further.

They're not a long difficult documents to read, will take maybe an hour to read them both.
They're written in plain English, not some cryptic code.

But you'll come up with every excuse not to read and understand them.

Better emphasize that you're seeking to have them read the CONSTITUTION, not the Constitutional Amendments. All too many of these clowns don't understand that the role of government is codified in the Constitution, and anything not specifically delegated to the Federal Government in the Constitution is reserved to the States, or the People themselves.

But then, half the people on PaRD don't seem to understand the Constitution is not a religion or a suggestion. It is the Supreme law of the United States, and the State Constitutions are the Supreme Law of the States. All other forms of law, be it statute, precedent, or common, are LESSER law, and all must fit within the Constitutional Framework, or they are illegal, and (in theory) will be thrown out.

But, people don't believe that. Why? Because they learned Social Engineering via Social Studies, and don't know shit about Civics.

Edit: In defense of Duff, however, I believe he's Canadian. So American Civics, or real understanding of the American Constitution is not to be expected.

Like, the process to amend the Constitution is outlined in the Constitution. The entire process of the Convention of States is well known, and has been performed many times. It was expected to happen every decade or two, and the founders never expected that the Constitution would maintain anything approaching it's original form for even a century.

It's not a "living document". It's a legal document that defines government and it's roll, and limits it's scope. And it's HARD to amend specifically to prevent wild runaway tyrannical government. How we got to a "godlike" thing is weird.

If the constitution is meant to be revisited every 10 to 20 years, why should one read the constitution only without the amendments? They were clearly intended as part of the process, so should also be relevant reading material. It is also intended to revisit and change the constitution if necessary, since the world has changed quite a bit in ~250 years.

The Amendments, or what you think of as the "Bill of Rights" focus more on the rights of the individual, rights the government cannot supersede.

The Constitution (aka not the Amendments) details the rights, responsibilities, and limitations of the government. Few people really understand what rights, responsibilities, and limitations the government has.

Thus, while everyone is familiar with the Amendments, most especially the Bill of Rights, it's honestly MORE important that the people know how the Government is circumventing the actual CONSTITUTION, and stepping outside it's rights, and outright violating them, as well as the rights of the citizenry.

SkySwallower has never even read the US Consitution let alone understands it.
