Kalob Byers attempted to smuggle significant quantity of CBD laced gummies into a country notorious for its zero tolerance policy for drugs. He is lucky he is not hanged as he would be in Singapore.

Having said that Kalob Byers is currently released and is at the U.S. Emb in Moscow anwaiting a flight home. Such a quick release of an American citizen from Russian custody esp on drug smuggling charges has probably never happened before.
