Hoping Elon gets some FCC backing for once for Starlink services. The reality is Elon has been singled out by FED grants and subsidy many times more than competing tech giants. He would need to be enriched just to be put back on the same baseline. He's been winning from a backseat position so to speak. Biden Admin was touting EV, not Tesla if you recall. Tax incentives iffy in the Tesla models.
For example, local fiber Zito (run by Rigas fraud family) takes annual FCC handouts of $500k+ and has a customer review of about 1.5/5, 6-9 month installation times, cost about $60-90 for those in service zone
When I looked it up last, Starlink had received $0 while lobbyist where working to halt the satellite launches. I have Starlink, took 5 minutes to install and have service. Costs $120 which is where FCC handouts could help consumers as opposed to giving it to known fraudsters like Rigas
As for Tesla, hope he does well. The vehicles have much better efficiency than competing EV. FED just needs to regulate them more in regards to right to repair. Closed cell foam around batter cells is retarded for repairs and adds more toxicity to the overall product. Hope we don't greenlight the geniuses idiot ideas cause his friend the big man
Starlink, yes. Tesla, no. Tesla was able to get on the S&P500 by smoothing out its revenue to have profitable quarters via sale of the amount of regulatory credits it got. I had been watching Tesla's 8 and 10K's back then for a while prior to its entrance on the S&P500 and all you had to do was watch the deferred amount release from the balance sheet to smooth. It was a good strategy, and he was using what was available to him, not going to knock him for it.
I also have Starlink. Watching the Canadian gov't try to threaten not to use it is a joke. Starlink has made more rural strides in Canada than any of the big 3 here (Bell, Telus Rogers) who have all let us rot with old copper that has been failing that they refuse to repair or worse. Canadian gov't should be investing in Starlink rather than continuing to prop up the giants we have that provide Canadians with shit service or considering funding the massively expensive fibre lines out to rural areas with minimal customers. Just use what Musk has already put up.
Recently CRTC , our governing telecom body rejected Bell from monopolizing fibre lines and requieres them to rent them to competition, their response was we just wont put any more up and we will try to get rid of another 1,200 employees.
