Would happily have Canada's procurement system gutted.

I can only imagine how it would look if you mapped out the friends/family members of members of congress who were receiving USAID funds.
I tried a few random googling up recipients. Tried Jhpiego, who got $1.3 billion. First name on board of advisors is Michele Brennan. She is married to the president of Comedy Central, who is described as close associate of Michael Moore and very involved with The Daily Show during Trevor Noah's tenure
Tried Population Services International. $1.1 billion. PSI board of directors chair is Michele Bratcher Goodwin MD. Author of "Policing the Womb"; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Policing_the_Womb

What in the??

A company received money and has a person on the board whose spouse works for another company who employees a person who is friends with a guy who was involved in a show that mocked republicans.

I have no doubt there is money going out that shouldn’t. But like… what?

The democrats and liberal elites are so interconnected with the recipients of their USAID funds that the first few I randomly checked on were sure enough connected right with the liberal elites
Its not like I sift through names and find a bunch of apolitical career oriented businessmen. Its a who's who list of activists, propagandists, pundits, etc.
I found an endless stream of USC / Berkeley / Georgetown / etc professors getting massive grants for absolute boondoggles like their 'mobile video games in kenya centered on gender equality', millions of taxpayer bucks going to a game developer who happens to be the daughter of a well connected Fidelity VP. The ol nepo baby tax siphon. $2 mllion to a trans group in guatemala, how does that connect? Its Lambda Legal's local branding, run by LGBT activists in New York, their board director is Marco Chan, describing his work in his own words as;

On the morning of November 6, I opened my phone to the election results. After checking in with a few friends, I switched to my work laptop. Paradoxically, I felt a surge of power and purpose. I jumped into work with my Lambda Legal colleagues remembering a few things. First, we had planned for this moment over months. Second, we had fought Trump's anti-equality attacks before -- and won. We blocked his ban on trans servicemembers. His attacks on our asylum system. Finally, I remembered what our Chief Legal Officer, Jenny, said a few weeks prior: "Our opponents fight to take our rights away. But we fight for our very lives. Our resolve wins in the end."

As the day went on, I reflected on colleagues' stories during my first work project to combat HIV/AIDS in San Francisco. In the depth of the epidemic, colleagues saw pages upon pages of names in the local obituary. Names of friends. Of those abandoned by their bioligical families in their last hours. Of those refused the final dignity of burial. I felt strength, remembering how we rose even from such dark nadirs. As LGBTQ+ people, we come from a long line of courageous, resourceful people who accomplished a lot with much less. We are a people who fight for our lives -- and win.

The new administration is already filling their ranks with those who see a hierarchy of Americans, with LGBTQ+ folks among the bottom. Some are already baselessly scapegoating LGBTQ+ folks for the loss of these elections. But together, we've got this. We have a plan. We have more allies than ever. We have each other.

Its a slush fund. These guys were getting taxpayer bucks to carry out liberal crusades. At best they are activists working at the direction of democrats and on taxpayer dime, at worse they are just family members getting kickbacks

Should the Heritage Foundation be getting billions of dollars per year in taxpayer dollars to thinktank the next iteration of conservative constitutionalism and vet the Republicans judicial picks?

What’s interconnected about that crazy long string lol?

I’m sure if you look hard enough my sibling has a spouse who may have a coworker, who goes to church with a person whose cousin knows a person whose father is in jail for a felony for some heinous crime. Does that make me a criminal by association? Because if so, buddy, we’re all in trouble.

Again, I’m sure there is money out there that probably shouldn’t be, but to call that crazy string of stuff “interconnected” shouldn’t even qualify as a stretch. It’s just creating your own narrative out of thin air and then trying to manufacture enough individual pieces to fit your predetermined narrative.

I've preached this before but to think that eitherside of the coin is vastly better than the other with financial waste I suspect would be fairly incorrect. It just gets allocated to different spots with the same levels of individual financial incentive.

Again, wealth gain for congressman and woman during their terms speak for themselves. They are either the best investors on earth or insanely lucky at the casino. I think neither are true. Republicans and democrats alike.

How far would I have to look for a single connection between these grants and republicans or conservative activists, pray tell

Probably comparably hard or easy if we’re being honest. Unless of course you decide ahead of time what your conclusion should be. In which case I’d imagine it’s either easier or harder depending on what ‘evidence’ you want to find for support.

MORE: Justice Department lawyers agreed to a proposed order late Wednesday night that would temporarily curb operatives of DOGE from accessing the Treasury Department’s sensitive financial data. According to a court filing, the order would only allow two of Musk's affiliates to have "read-only" access to the sensitive financial data.

Democrats tried to shutdown the access to the treasury. DoJ decided 2 people at once are allowed because 2 treasury officials are working with them and will look over their shoulders with read-only access. Basically, nothing has changed. That's the chill pill for hysterical data analysts and a "win" for democrats.
