Imo just build a 100 ft wall along entire US/CAN border and create 2 million jobs so its properly guarded 24/7, trenches filled with reptiles and sharks and lasers and make Canada pay for it. Identical to one that was built during Trumps first term across entire Mexican border. No point in playing around anymore

This is a tiny accomplishment that ruined our relationship with Canada and believe it or not that's a little important.

1500 is a significant increase when they only had 8500 total prior. 17.64% increase.

It didn’t sound like it ruined it. Both leaders from Mexico and Canada said the conversations were positive and friendly.

So shuffling around ~1,500 people to the border is all it took? Is fentanyl really the issue here, because the quantity moving from Canada to the US is lower than the other way around and insignificant compared to whatever is seized at your southern border.

That's a extra soldier for every 4 miles of border if 8500 wasn't getting it done the extra I feel won't make a difference

Mexico needs to handle the cartels and actually stop them or significantly reduce their influence and power. Long as they exist they are going to get fentanyl and immigrants through they get creative as fuck

No the issue is our allies in both border control and NATO not pulling their weight and being a burden to the US. That’s the issue. If Canada EVER has a conflict or issue the US will be the First Nation they rely on.

Mark my words. After the border is more secure Trump is going after NATO hard this term too.

Then why is Trump rambling on about fentanyl if that's not the issue? What type of non-existing threat to Canada are you referring to where the US would need to intervene? Our countries already help each other out when there are natural disasters, but it's not like an invasion is expected. Judging by the numbers our borders seem to be more secure than yours as a whole.

it was chest puffing. the mexican deal was real and needed, even if we didnt require tariff threats to make it happen, thats the route he took. but as compared to mexico the canadian govt isnt owned by cartels, even if people think they have corruption issues.
