China bought more nvidia chips on the black market that it's not reporting.

This is an instance of China first acquiring the fundamentals of building an AI from America, and then went and slimmed it down and released a far better version. A straight mogging. This is because Tech is currently still infested with delusional leftist ideology which stifles their creative growth and output.

Then why is MIT and Standford hosting their own local programs of it and reporting the same cost savings?
Why are even installing even the full parameters on their local hardware and getting good results?

Because those are smaller scale tests.
And chinese coders are some of the best for AI.

I was referring to massive scale results.
China doesn't play fair, it's using more chips than it's suppose to have.

DeepSeek is based on a differect algorithm and is way more efficient than the brute force version used by its OpenAI competitor.
But that's not the interesting part. DeepSeek is truly open source and not some gate keeping BS like chatGPT + friends, which means people all around the world are going to develop it and AI development would be much faster than some companies were thinking of milking in decades.
That's the way science meant to be.
You can even make your own version of it with your server farm.
