It also didn't help that the Biden admin ostentatiously went all in on spending like a drunken sailor right as a massive surge of inflation was building. Or that they, after the inflation had happened, tried to gaslight the American public about the economy. The Biden admin and its media allies basically argued that the economic vibes were irrationally gloomy and that Americans were only making things up. This of course contrasted highly unfavorably with the very tangible, 30-50% higher grocery prices they saw every week, or the even more dramatically surging housing costs.

Instead of acknowledging that "yes, we're in some deep shit, but here is how we're gonna work our way out of it", Biden and the Democrats instead opted for an approach of "don't trust your lying eyes". Is it really a surprise that they lost ground with swing voters and had low enthusiasm from their base?

Democrats blew a billion dollars and managed to end up 20 million in debt. Just saying

It might still be because a lot of them are idiots though, very high correlation between education and not voting for Trump being a good indicator for that.

The US is somewhat unique in the way how people are proud in being uneducated, fueled by a news network pushing that agenda. If you are tired of being talked down to, educate yourself and act smarter.

Edit: Trump promised cheap groceries and cheap gasoline and god knows what and it will not happen, at the very least not because of his politics. Idk what to tell you, if people are so dumb to fall for the worlds best known conman twice maybe you have been beyond redemption anyways. At least try to not set the world on fire out of spite.

The poorest demographic (least educated) voted for Harris. So I guess there goes that theory.

Or the fact that a presidential candidate was almost assassinated twice and both times it dropped off the news cycle like it was nothing. Not to mention the initial reports that trump "tripped" and was "rushed off stage after popping noises." (Which they later removed)

This is not the same, people without college degree voted overproportionally for Trump, the higher the degree, the less likely they voted for Trump. The reason the absolute poorest people are less likely to vote Trump is that they are also minorites in addition to being less educated, poor whites vote Trump.

to be fair I did not check if the source really published that data (since I apparently can't without paying money), for now I will assume this data is correct. Trump is performing better in all but one "non-college degree" group by a wide margin and it's not a coincidence

Edit: I would be open for a less restricted view on age, but I can't seem to get election result data to freely aggregate myself for that. If somebody has a link I would appreciate it.

One last edit: the same pattern is true in all of the european countrys election results I looked at so far. Far right populist parties perform better with less educated groups, a common theory being that easy solutions for complex problems are preferred by people who have problems with complex solutions.
