Does anyone still use LAZ' value calculator at harrogath?

I don't see many things selling these days, but I generally use this as a decision maker on whether I put an item on a mule to die, or drop an item in the Junk Drop Inn to die somewhere else.

I guess I'm wondering the accuracy of the values, and more so why an item being crafted instead of rare, with the same stats, would be worth more?

Regardless, I love this fucking thing.

I've read they're not accurate. Markets change, there are different markets. Waste of time. Make price checks and do the research instead.

Games over twenty years old, there’s not much changing in terms of what’s desirable vs what isn’t..

Things change in two tens of years. People get smarter, figure out new strategies. 1) I always suggested kira's guardian many years ago and got shit for it constantly, now i see people use and recommend it all the time. 2) I used to recommend gavel of pain on switch for amp damage in goldfind travincal runs, got harassed for it.. then someone made a guide about it, stole the idea, and get praised for it. I had the original idea.

I have many other ideas too, but surely will get harassed for them. The game has a lot of different things. But the people with fg sell main builds and gear setups to market it and thus make money, and that's been the main problem for 20 years. Money destroying the passion. Blizzard should have worked against it, but decided to just get a quick cash-in themselves on d2r. Sad.

most of the non-ladder community still playing is a melee league. that's why 40/15 still sell well. outside of that, hybrid runewords and 08 items are so cheap now with so few playing anything you can make or find yourself has gone down significantly in value. people were paying 3kfg for a 40/400 grief pb during the pandemic, now you can get a god pb for less than that. It needs to be a high roll 5 mod ring to be worth the time trying to sell and even high roll 6 mod stuff is going much cheaper than it used to, so the calculator is not accurate. Just have to see how valuable the mods would be for a melee char or a caster and sell accordingly.

I missed out on the hybrid runeword phase, think I came back in 2017/2018 or something like that and left at some point after Ith items, Hexing Charms and Occy Rings.

I've been playing pretty steadily since and never tried buying one, just see them in passing as plain text but love seeing the confusing as fuck pictures of them from time to time :D

Any clue on the rare vs crafted values? Just different stat ranges or something like that?

Yea really just depends on the mods. Crafted you’ll mostly see blood crafts, rings can get 60 life instead of 40 of a rare, blood boots can have higher rep life, gloves give crushing blow, belt open wounds, helm deadly strike. Fundamentally it is still how many meaningful mods are on the item and how close are those mods to perfect to determine a price. I have a rough guide in my profile.

It isnt very good for doing calc on low level gear. it will tell you a perfect ring for lvl 9-49 is junk.
if its lvl 66req and it don't light up green then its probably junk. if it lights up green at any level its worth posting.
at least that's how I treat it. but I still use to give me an idea.
