That's no longer a thing. The Electoral Count Reform Act of 2022, which was buried hundreds of pages deep in an omnibus spending package, says that the Governor of a State certifies the State's electors. Only the Governor-certified slate of electors can be accepted by Congress, and that certified slate is presumed valid. Period.
No more faithless electors. Sorry, that's just how it is. Thank the Biden Admin.
So there can still be a faithless elector, but they may be rejected.
