Hi there! I’m interested in getting a bit of currency on the side in poe2. But worried about being banned! Can anyone give some insight in how safe it is and some tips on how to do it properly. Is GGG often banning people from let’s say buying 10-15 divines and getting them through a trade on the trade site?

Its not safe at all.

I dont think they actually started banning ppl in PoE2 yet, and maybe they wont do it during the EA (who knows...).
But in PoE1 they have done so VERY actively for the last years.
And they consider JSP RMT aswell... you still see ppl here openly mentioning their ingame name in trade topics... those accounts will all be gone sooner or later, trust me.

Don’t use jsp/rmt for poe1/2 at all if you‘re super worried about ban.
But I think if they ban you it‘s not that big of a deal cause you’re allowed to just make a new account (that’s what I’ve read, not 100% sure about it tho)

Damn… how about using g2g instead then? I figured maybe putting up an item that’s actually semi decent, put it up for like 10-20 div, let it sit on trade site for a few days, then find a seller on jsp… well not anymore it seems after your advice, but maybe g2g instead then?

I think it’s pretty easy to make a new account… pretty annoying tho when you have purchased a lot of stash tabs etc.

Yes, ofc you can make a new account.
But all your items, chars, stash, mtx is gone.
You start from scratch.

Yeah, it’s a bit risk, and it seems GGG actually does a lot to try and keep rmt down.

I still can’t figure out how much of a risk I’m in doing it the way I mentioned in the previous post.

Do you have any experience in how to maximize safety? Have you been banned?

In 13 years of playing poe I got banned once. And I only got banned because I traded with a fucking flipper/shop.
Just make sure you're trading with legit players on jsp and you will not run into any issues.

Good info! But how do i validate this tho, bro? Right now im looking at g2g sellers just to gather info, and im wondering if the ones with a smaller stock but very high rating (99+) approval would be good to buy from? And i want to do it through trade site with an item ive had up for a few days so it seems more legit? But am i just naive ?

I would never buy currency from g2g or any other site for that matter (besides jsp of course).
After years of trading on jsp I know who's a shop and who's not.
