Played as a kid, account is long gone. I'm considering getting back into it even as the new shareholders seem to be ticking off the playerbase.
I know jagex goes hard on preventing out of game transactions, would I get flagged if I started a new account and bought a bunch of RSG for FG? What sort of transactions get flagged? Would I need to stepladder in buying small amounts of gold as I play?
Looks like I can buy membership with in-game gold now, is that going to set off alarms?

Yes you would be flagged and smited down. Your safest way to do it early is to have someone buy bonds and send them your way, as people trading bonds to new accounts Is common practice. It would be on you to earn the first 1.5m~ to get it tradable to sell.
