First you must search for the items you're looking to mute on the marketplace.
You then need to, at the very least, hover over them with your mouse to click them into the buy window.
You then need to, at the very least, hover over them to click them into either your vault or muting box.
That is at least twice that you would get a glimpse of the stats on the item. This is also not mentioning that the item would need to be touched into said boxes when on a phone.
I know of several high level muters that may "mindlessly mute" but still look at stats before breaking an item down, even for just a brief second.
This is likely the reason for all the suspicion.
TLDR: The likelihood of you not looking at the stats at any given point while manually purchasing and muting an item seems lower than the likelihood that some form of automation is in place, causing you not to see these things.
Not accusing you of anything Chip, just stating the obvious reasons for the suspicion.
Well, I never buy for skilling so I would not know, just saying I can imagine it happening.
The more interesting question for me would be, why would anyone put up good items for very low prices. Wouldn't that be circumventing the fee and therefore problematic?
I'm more the type of guy that missclick on glyphing instead of muting
but I always look which item i'm putting in the box
Well, I am still at Tier 3 glyphing and Tier 5/6 muting, maybe that is why I don't bother looking, but nobody can tell me they are super careful with every single items they use for skilling.
But then again, I have no different items in my vault I could mix them up with when skilling, and mostly I mute/glyph items I find right away anyways while regenerating.
