https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/fda-announces-ban-on-red-dye-no-3-heres-what-to-expect--and-why-some-families-already-avoid-the-food-coloring-145501169.html

for years crunchy hippy moms said it was a problem especially in kids and were called nutbags. finally the FDA acts on whats been very settled data. the rest of the world already banned it.

RFK Jr has a long list but let's hope he can knock out a few:

[X] Red 3
[ ] Yellow 5
[ ] Hep B vaccine for babies
[ ] Enriched Flour in school lunches
[ ] over-prescription of thyroid medications

What is the "settled data"? I'm only passively aware of Red Dye #3 studies being linked to thyroid cancers in male rodents, where the rodents were exposed to significantly higher amounts than even in human consumption, and that the rat thyroid/hormone/iodine uptake system is meaningfully different in physiology so as to question whether it is applicable then to humans.

Many of the food dyes are poison.
Red 40 is notorious for negative side effects.

I hope RFK actually succeeds on this.

Fluoride when?

This, Fluoride was sold as rat poison.
It's a by product of the aluminum industry, among other industry.
It's cheaper to feed the public Fluoride in tap water than it is to dispose of it properly.
Dentists are encouraged to push Fluoride by lobbyists.
Your mouth produces a natural chemical to keep your teeth strong.

the underlying study that i thought had the best methodology:

Quote
Two more recent studies addressed many limitations of earlier study designs. Bateman
et al. (2004) included 277 three-year-old children in England and was a randomized,
cross-over, double blinded, mixture study that included both children with and without
identified hyperactivity and used several validated outcome measures. Based on parent
scores, a statistically significant increase in hyperactivity was seen with the dye
challenge compared with placebo. The second study conducted by the same research
group using a similar design (McCann et al. 2007) enrolled 153 three-year-olds and 144
eight- and nine-year-old children. Validated outcome measures were combined to
create standardized weekly global hyperactivity aggregate (GHA) scores. Statistically
significant adverse effects were demonstrated for all three-year-old children, effect size
0.20 (95% C.I. 0.01-0.39) and was greater for those who consumed at least 85% of the
juice containing the dye dose and had no missing data (effect size 0.32; 95% C.I. 0.05
– 0.60). Statistically significant effects were also seen in eight and nine year olds who consumed at least 85% of the juice. A subsequent study (Stevenson et al., 2010) using
the same cohort found evidence of moderation by gene polymorphisms in histamine
degradation and the dopamine transporter gene. The effect sizes seen in these studies
are similar to the overall effect size identified in high-quality studies evaluated in the
meta-analysis by Nigg et al. (2012), 0.22 (95% C.I.; 0.01 – 0.41). Examination of
psychometric tests of attention specifically, an objective and relevant metric, yielded a
higher effect size, 0.27 (p= 0.007). When limiting the analysis to studies that only
included FDA dyes, the effect was 0.34 (p= 0.017). The effect size was not different
between studies that selected participants based on attentional problems/ADHD status
and those that used a general population indicating that the general childhood
population, not just those with diagnosed ADHD, is at risk for the impacts of food dyes
on behavior.

cancer was ruled out as a risk in humans, but not animals. however neurological issues in children seems to be fairly well observed among a wide array of studies.

there's nothing wrong with fluoride to treat teeth, it just shouldn't be consumed.

Here stick this poison in your mouth.
The part of your body that absorbs chemicals into the blood stream and is used to swallow food/water.

Fluoride shouldn't be introduced to the human body.
Let alone the water supply.

Name a drug/chemical that is 1 dose fits all.
There is none, yet the government backed by industry deems it so.

The human Godfather of Propaganda Edward Bernays, spun this shit on us.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_relations_campaigns_of_Edward_Bernays
Quote
Bernays helped to convince the American public that water fluoridation was safe and beneficial to human health.

Edward Bernays has affected your parents lives, your life and your children's lives..

The long legged mac daddy Obama actually reduced the amount of fluoride in municipal water.
Quote
The Obama administration recommended that community water systems now put 0.7 milligrams of fluoride in each liter of drinking water.

There is 0.7mg of Fluoride in every liter of water.

Fluorosis can be nasty to the human body.

Fluoride is good to apply to your teeth - what it does is a simple anion substitution to turn hydroxyapatite into fluorapatite which is more resilient.

It's okay for this, but yes, not to consume. Fluoride is an extremely dangerous & powerful ion, which is why exposure to hydrofluoric acid (which itself is a weak acid) can easily kill you. Fluoride is so powerful it will start substituting everywhere it can, and it has a very high affinity for Calcium (of which apatite is a mineral of) so it quite literally eats away at your bones. It should never be consumed and should absolutely not be in drinking water which should be obvious, it's why you shouldn't swallow toothpaste.

the tooth building substances secreted naturally in the mouth can't heal fluoridated teeth

What's always blown my mind is when you go to another country and you see warning labels all over the same Western dogshit products they sell in the USA and Canada with no warning labels.

Even South American countries have warning labels on heavily processed foods that contain high amounts of xyz.

Politicians in North America have just been bought and paid for and food lobby groups is a pretty dark area.

"This chart shows the average yearly percentage change in net worth of the 100 congressional incumbents whose calculated net worth[2] divided by the number of years studied was the highest.[3]

The average increase in net worth in the Top 100 was 114% per year.[4]
Of the "Top 100", 56 are Republicans, 43 are Democrats and one is an Independent.
In total, the study looks at 320 Republicans, 296 Democrats and two Independents."

In EU, we even have a general guidance label for a healthy food on any consumable product. It goes from A to E (healthy to unhealthy). Even if you're a busy uninformed noob, you get a general idea. You can look up here:
https://europa.eu/youreurope/business/product-requirements/food-labelling/general-rules/index_en.htm
RFK Jr should just copy those at first then see which to remove or what to add later. The reason being, France, Italy and Spain depend on selling high quality brand food/products which cannot be produced cheaply. Their lobbies (surprise surprise) enforced minimum food standards in all of the EU to be able to distinguish their products from cheap knockoffs from elsewhere. No sane person is gonna buy a chlorinated chicken from the US for that reason. At the moment, they are working at a legislation to ban any kind use of sugar in foods which shouldn't contain sugar. Higher tax for sweets just like for cigarettes are also being discussed.
