As i remember Holy Fire in D2 LOD is different than Holy Fire on D2R

If i need to maximize the pulse damage of the Holy fire in D2 LOD do i need to max resist fire first instead of maxing Holy fire itself?

I think it’s the same in both. Max the synergies (resist fire)

naah in d2r focusing on maxing holy fire first seems to kill faster a P8 game
doing same in LOD is way more slower , i just cant remember if this was the only skill that maxing it synergie first is a must in LOd

Oh snap! I thought we were talking about a pally with dragon and hand of justice. My bad. I’ll work on my critical reading skills.

To start a brand new pally you can put the first couple skills in resist fire cause you’re not high enough lvl to unlock holy fire. Holy fire = more damage than pumping the synergy. You right!

yes yes i ment for a fresh start pally , which will not interact with melee attack but just moving arround and the Holy Fire to kill the monsters , so i think in LOD maxing first the Synergie is better than maxing Holy fire ( only 1 pnt in HF , and then maxing Resist fire ?

In both versions you max Holy fire first. More damage and radius. You only put points into resist when you cant level up holy fire but still have points left. Lvl 1 holy fire is useless even, if you have maxed resists. The only benefit i can think of is when you do some weird vengeance build. There if you have 20 vengeance, 20 fire resist, 20 salvation 1 holy fire, you will have probably have better weapon dmg. It was allways like this. The only thing D2R changed is that aura damage scales based on distance to the caster.
