It's the basic theory of slavery. No one person can do all the things. But if one person can control another person, then they can do more of the things. Well, what if one person, or a small group of people, control all the people? Then they can have ALL the things!

There's a reason companies have a "Human Resource" department. You are a resource. Your employment is only as secure as your usefulness. If you are not useful enough, you are cast out and can starve.

This is why the less government you have, the better off you are. Just enough to keep foreign invaders out and keep warlords from springing up in your own nation.
