Hey everyone,

Trying to find the best gear setup and tactics as a wind druid when facing a formidable BVC (i.e., a very fast chainlocking BVC with sick gear)

What tactics should I use against these kinds of BVC? Beyond just spamming nados, teleporting into them, and hoping that barb lands on them. I prefer to be aggressive and have more tricks than just running and spamming

Ive had success beating good barbs as a 99/99 max block druid using a pelt/hoto/ss etc., but I don't want to have to respec just to duels barbs and idk if that config is even legal in GM duels

Please community... let me know your thoughts <3

Dungo
2/20/Berber circ
Rest standard setup to hit 163

Use spirit wolves and oak and keep them up after every time you get clipped
If barb is leaping a lot try to get right beside a puddle so you can’t be kb’d and attempt to bait them into nados. Requires teleporting as the beginning of their teleporting.

If the barb is chain locking it depends on the barb but you can sometime sneak a nado in and tekeport before they can get an attack off if you have full wolf stacks. If you don’t then c/t away and recast wolves.

In general try to recast wolves between teleports so that you don’t stay still too long. You need to stay moving to prevent the barb getting easy locks. This goes for casting nados as well. When casting nados between teleports try to cast them in a way that they converge from Multiple directions and bait the barb in. If the barb is playing more defensive then alternate tele and nado and try to get a nado close to them but not close enough to get fully we’d.

If the barb is full psycho aggressive then it is a rhythm game of trying to cast nados or wolves/oak between teleports and trying to time your teleports with theirs so you are always leaving just as they are landing. This takes practice though. It’s extremely fun when you fight a barb like this since you can pretty much stay on each other’s screen a box it out while trying to keep up your wolves, oak and nado traps

Always prioritize recasting oak when it’s down before wolves.

Thank you for this - its very helpful <3

I was using bear and didn't think to use puddles or obstacles to stop the leap, or try to have the nados converge on one place

Great tips

Incase you dont have a fancy exspensive diadem, a BERBER coa works nice as well ;)

At this point you can get 2/20/2os for really cheap so not really worth getting a 15 dr 2os coa for it

You can get close to 99/99 mb by just using gear.

Eld SS
Shadow Dancers
Hoto
Magefist
Arach
Enigma
2 druid/10fcr/20 dex/life+++ amulet
20 dex raven Ravenfrost
10fcr/15dex/life/mana++++ ring
2/3/10/2 pelt with 2x shael (or 2x 7fhr/9dex/xxx jewels etc)

You forgot to include the butt plug and Starbucks cold brew to go along with using maxblock vs a barb

I don’t play Druid at all but I mained Barb when I played and MB Druid never bothered me anyways.

Was just a suggestion since his complaint about using max block was that he had to respec to do so.

I had a similar build - it reached max block with just a few points in dex. It did good damage (6.7k) and had over 7k life with MB

It did great against barbs tbh and also destroyed other druids

Its frustrating to play with the 99fcr frame though. Its painfully slow and buggy. Plus I prefer druid vs necro over druid vs barb and I don't like to to respec. Barb duels just take too long and I hate being defensive

Is the 2/20/2 circlet + verdungos really that much better than COA + Arach?

I get the pros - 13 more rep life, 80 life (40 vita) + the circ could also have other mods like more life, frw, etc.

But the COA + arachnid gives 2 more skills to BO since its ALL SKILLS rather than + druid and also 20 additional FHR

Would be curious to know what the best in slot is for this matchup
