Ok, my set up is not “omgzors!!” or anything but I’m having some issues deciding where to go gpu wise.

My build is
I9 13900f(I won this)
32gb 6000mhz ddr5
Rx 6800.
I play at 4k(60hz) and 1440p(144hz, but usually cap at 100)

Now this issue I’m having is I want a new gpu, and was looking at the 7800 xt, but it seems that it’s not really much of an upgrade when I start looking at specific titles I play.
I’m about 90% sure I’m waiting to see what drops in the first quarter over buying any 7000 series but would like some real world feed back from people who own 7800 xt or even 7900 xt.

Don’t really need to hear “go team green” as I’m still happy with my 3070 when I need it.

I use a sapphire pure rx7800xt I play max settings 3440x1440 at 120hz I hit 120fps and stay there for the most part on every game I play except for space marine2, Wukong, and madden 2025.

games I play are darktide, diablo4, starwars battlefront2, cod, tekken8, mk11, fc2025, cyberpunk2077, gta5, helldivers2.

also use a sapphire nitro rx7900xtx i play max settings 5120x1440 @120hz and sometimes 2160p@120hz. It stays locked on 120fps on every game I play on 5120x1440. On 2160p max settings it stays at 120fps on most games but has minor dips to 70-120fps on newer games like wukong and space marine 2.

also almost always using fsr and frame gen. and also I always lock my fps to 120 on all my gaming displays.

Thank you, this is the sort of info I was looking for.

As would like to be able to get some $ back on my 6800.
Currently in Canada should be able to sell my 6800 for 350-400 and grab a 7800 xt for around 750 ish.
Probably use the money to upgrade my 4k monitor as it’s getting a little long in the tooth.

7800 XT is not an upgrade for the 6800
You should just wait another month and see what the new GPU prices are

I’m aware that it’s not far above the 6800, it’s more about wanting a new one, and still being able to sell rx 6800 for 50% of cost of new one.

Still on fence though, as I always say “imma sell the old one” and then never do.
