I found perf mage plate with 15%ed, then i have other elite base with almost perf def and i cant decide which one to use for enigma. Propably elite base is better since more def and i dont need lower str reg. But just need second opinion XD

Elite more defense if that's what your after

I always think the archon plate is the endgame armor for high end runewords.. mage plate has about 50 less strength req, you end up with less armor, but about 100-300 more hit points depending on character and bo/oak or no bo/oak.

If using bo, frost armor and/or defiance merc, you get more defense, thus making it more worthwhile to get archon plate. If you don't give a damn about defense, and rather focus on the shield, i say go for the mage plate and get more hit points.

But the last part is what other gear you get or plan on getting. If other gear pushes strength to say 80-90, now you only need 20 hard points to get archon plate, lessening the hit point loss.

Everything is relevant to the other.

a 50 def bp is going to perform the same as a 600 def ap. defense has a very small effect on most pvm builds.

a low req base > as it allows you to save stat points. generally higher resale value too for that same reason

AP is generally a trash base on d2r. and make sure you use a lightweight armor to avoid frw penalty

u will get like ~60 str on enigma, depends on char lvl...

so, look at ur highest str req item u want to equip, subtract ~60 str and u have ur amount of str req whats ur enigma should maximal have. include ur str on other gear into that math too


if wearing monarch, u can go for elite light armor like dusk or wyrm
archon needs to much str imo, its just for style or ur build is going for having much defense without frw-malus on mid/heavy armors

otherwise go for mage/light plate and u dont need to invest any hardpoints into strength
