at what age did you feel like a capable adult?

I know for my partner and I, we both agree around ~28

I don't think that college aged kids are anywhere near mature enough to be in a relationship with people old enough that they ought to be established in their careers and finances





edit: but judging by the way OP carries on, he very well may be a 35 year old that fits in better with college kids than adults

im getting by okay but i always feel theres room for improvement

but to answer your question id say 11 years ago is when i really sobered up because i had my son and real life hit me in the face real quick and i had to wake up


so i guess 25 or 26 is when i would say i became a ''capable adult'' and thats because it was forced on me


a person could be a capable adult at 18... it just depends on how your upbringing was, honestly the harder a person has it kinda dictates how early they become a ''capable adult'' atleast in my opinion

yes there are outliers

but generally speaking college kids are more similar to kids than adults

and should be in childish relationships not adult relationships

I'm mid-30s and married, but if I ever ended up in the dating pool again, one of the first women I'd approach is ~55... that's a ~20 year age gap, but I can confidently say it'd be miraculous if I ever even considered a woman under ~25

although i will say it should be a man and a woman with their child because everyone knows gays cant have children and shouldnt be able to adopt them either because their weirdos and we dont need weirdos raising kids
