Interested in running a vtpk ladder but wanna get everyone's opinion
Phoenix or no Phoenix ?

Any interest?

I always prefer no Phoenix but any vtpk better than no vtpk so I'd be fine with a ladder that includes Phoenix.

Also I've seen conviction brought up but I'm not to big a fan of the idea, unless convinced otherwise. I'm open to discussion. There's alot better players than me with a lot more experience so I'm all ears haha.

Allowing Phoenix, one source of tap and 1 point conviction would be ideal if you wanted everyone to play.

The only thing Phoenix has done is made the average smite damage 1000 instead of 900.

This means you’ll typically need rends on an enigma build, be able to duel with an exile build or just a regular fort build to beat the common cookie cutter setup using let’s say the marvels guide and a Phoenix st.

The problem with the Phoenix is it puts the 800 dmg spirit and 900 dmg average build into fhr animation because of the firestorm from the Phoenix. It’s the same as when a torch goes off and your wearing an Arach, it stuns you unless you have 10 fhr.

I’d say make a manly Vtpk ladder like the pubs, just don’t allow oak sage or like two sources of life tap or two sources of target slow and actually define the old rules of overly defensive play so you don’t get pure chargers or fohers showing up.

Also no one owns Vtpk. Do what ever you want bud. If they say anything let me know and I’ll relearn how to play, get real internet again and come kick them in the teeth for ya.

For Phoenix idc either way haha. I'd rather vtpk a pho smiter than not vtpk at all. I've used stormshield, rends 2x bk arach in hell and haven't had much a problem with them in pubs. But they're pub smiters not vtpkers. A lot of them don't wanna play with hf and I don't mind, just vibe haha.
Conviction I could be convinced on but idk. Just seems like you just have to spend more fg just for a gear check. I wouldn't want to raise the bar of entry. But In hell I've delt with Phoenix smiters using conviction and usually just opens you up to be stomped. Wouldn't go no more than 1 hard point tho. I think that's -85 res?

I don't think I'd budge on tap or oak lol. Oh and ofc no more than 10% slow. 68% IAS is achievable to counter hf+10% slow

I have noticed the fhr stun from the firestorm. It feels kinda random but I'm not sure haha. I'm sure there's a fhr BP needed for it but idk what that would be. 27? To much for my smooth brain to think about lol. I usually put on fr. 80 with ww makes it feel more bearable.

But end of the day, I'd just like to see a ladder and wanna see what everyone thinks to kinda put the rules in, in addition to the OG rules. I'd do two ladders if need be haha.

There is only one way to get them all to show their face. Allow 1x of everything everyone disagrees on.

1x CTC item (Phoenix or exile)
1 point conviction
1 point freeze
1x target slow item capped at 10%
1x item for bo (maras)
1x whatever bm shit they use


As far as dueling on other servers, I just have a portable beefed up msi trident and home wifi so it seems pretty choppy to me, I never tested it when I had my computer in my office with high speed internet tho. I took my computer out of my office so no one can find out who I am when it happens or at least delay the inevitable.

Seems to be a ping issue from what I'm seeing tho, might wanna separate the ladders but keep them all in the same thread if that makes sense. Or just utilize leading dueling stats from k style to counter the latency. (What I'm doing on my Wi-Fi when I play) same concept as leading a frw bugged smiter or hdin.

I could help you set up the ladder and make it beautiful with d2 branding but my team and designers are currently late with my projects.

But ya just use the d2 branding when making the ladder, so colors, fonts, backgrounds, objects etc and make the images and banners on the ladder for mobile view as over 60% of people are on mobile viewing websites.



The only other way would be to gather the rules from west, east, EU, Asia and combine them into a ruleset.

And nice build you got, I designed it in my mind using platonic solids. Happy to see a stormshield out smiting a Phoenix defying all the logic everywhere. (I got kicked out of school,and alt Ed, I can't even count) weird what a mind can do when it's not taught how to think.

Thanks brother, I got an idea. I think I'll just run two separate ladders. A classic one that's always been ran, and an another one that allows Phoenix and 1pt in conviction. I'll post them up later today and see if anyone bites lol. Pretty sure I can keep up with both

Anytime brother. Might be worth a vote to see how they wanna duel, or make one and constantly upgrade it with community feedback just like you would growth manage a product from a mvp every 1 1/2 years.

Oh and the fhr answer is 27% to stop the storm, it depends on damage taken but sometimes 10% fhr is enough. Amazon basin has a lot of info about how it works.
