Of course. Whether they know it or not, that's what everyone contributing to a functional society is working toward--improvement of the society. As I said, it's working. Our standard of living has skyrocketed in all of our lifetimes.
The biggest threat to a stable society is people who think they're oppressed when they actually have it great. Those people turn to communism or anarchy or fascism and try to destroy the greatest accomplishments in human history for some imagined utopia. Idealists are all the same, they want sudden sweeping changes that have always and will always prove disastrous. The only proven way to improve a large society is slowly, incrementally. Again, we're doing a great job. No one has ever had lives as good as ours anywhere on the planet, including actual kings and emperors.
All historical evidence suggests that if we stay the path it's only going to get better for our children but if we stray they will face starvation and enslavement.
